In my opinion he is going to get played a lot by the amateur gamblers today. Almost all of them will be playing California Chrome to win. You will get better value and almost the same amount of $$$$ if u play California Chrome to place. When Big Brown won the Preakness as a heavy favorite it paid more to place than to win. Could happen today too. If u remember the Preakness 2 weeks ago California Chrome paid $3.00 to win and $3.00 to place.This might not mean a lot if Chrome wins the race but it sure would save your ass if he gets beat by a neck today. Could be wrong but I don't think the average better will bet on Chrome to place. The other horses will get bet to place but Chrome will be bet to win.

You are right about the Win thing. I heard yesterday there will be a TON of $2 Win tickets bought on Chrome. People who buy them will not even cash them in. They will buy the ticket so if he wins they can frame it and say look I had a win ticket on the Triple Crown Winner in the Belmont. I believe that theory to be true and it will no doubt affect the Win odds! -
