Game 5 winner in drivers seat in Ducks-Kings series

The Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings have tossed home-ice advantage out the window with no hosting team winning a game in the series. History states that whichever team wins Monday's Game 5, will have a firm grasp on the series.

The past 21 times the road team has won the first four game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Game 5 winner has won the series 18 times. That means the Game 5 winner carries a ridiculous 85.7 winning percentage during these circumstances.

The last time a team lost Game 5 in this situation and went on to win the series was in 2001 when the Pittsburgh Penguins topped the Buffalo Sabres.

Blackhawks' Shaw out for Game 6

Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw will not play against the Minnesota Wild in Game 6 of their Western Conference second-round series Tuesday due to a lower-body injury, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said on Monday. Shaw will miss his fifth consecutive game due to the injury.

Canadiens offense slumping at the wrong time

The Montreal Canadiens backs are against the wall at the TD Center Monday. In a do-or-die situation, the Habs need to see a resurgence of their potent postseason offense.

The Canadiens are the highest scoring team this postseason, averaging 3.22 goals per game while scoring at least three goals in their first seven of the playoffs. However, in the past two games the Canadiens have only scored two goals in each.

Bettors have cashed in on this offensive onslaught (6-1-2 O/U record), but if the Canadiens (+111) want to make it to Game 7 they will need to solve the Bruins and Tuukka Rask (-120).

Quentin expected to make debut for Padres Tuesday

Carlos Quentin is expected to be in the lineup for the San Diego Padres against the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday according to Darren Smith.

Quentin has batted 3-for-18 during his rehab stint since landing on the DL with a knee injury. Quentin batted .275 with 13 home runs and 44 RBI for the Padres last season.

The Padres are dead last in RBI's and on-base percentage to go with ranking 25th or lower in hits, home runs, RBI's and runs.
