Kings at Ducks: What bettors need to know
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Los Angeles Kings at Anaheim Ducks (-130, 5)

After Marian Gaborik provided quite the detour in the opener, the Freeway Faceoff continues on Monday as the host Anaheim Ducks look to even their Western Conference second-round series with the Los Angeles Kings at one game apiece. Anaheim was poised to take Game 1 before Gaborik scored the tying goal with seven seconds remaining in the third period and netted the winning tally 12:07 into overtime in Los Angeles' 3-2 triumph on Saturday. The Slovak is tied with Colorado's Paul Stastny and Chicago's Patrick Kane and Bryan Bickell with an NHL-leading five tallies this postseason.

While the Kings matched the Blackhawks with current five-game winning streaks, Pacific Division-champion Anaheim was left to sort through the emotions of a crushing defeat. "Well, you know, you get scored on with seven seconds to go, it's a tough one to swallow," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. Jonas Hiller was victimized on the late tally but was strong in net with 33 saves while making his first start in nearly a month.

TV: 10 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN, RDS

ABOUT THE KINGS: Anze Kopitar has been the model of consistency in the playoffs, recording at least one point in all eight of the team's games and 10 straight dating back to the regular season. The Slovenian leads the NHL with 13 points (four goals, nine assists) and has 42 over the last three playoffs. Drew Doughty has eight points (one goal, seven assists) in as many games and logged a game-high 33:06 of ice time after fellow defenseman Robyn Regehr exited the series opener in the first period following a hit against the end boards by Anaheim veteran Teemu Selanne.

ABOUT THE DUCKS: The 43-year-old Selanne became the third-oldest player in league history to score a postseason goal, "trailing" Hall-of-Famers Gordie Howe (52, 1980) and Chris Chelios (45, 2007). The tally was the first of the playoffs for the Finnish Flash, who is expected to retire at the end of the postseason. Captain Ryan Getzlaf, who set up both of Anaheim's goals in Game 1, has registered a team-leading six assists and nine points.

    TRENDS:

    * Under is 4-1-2 in the last seven meetings.
    * Road team is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
    * Kings are 5-0 in their last five overall.
    * Ducks are 1-4 in their last five Conference Semifinals games.

    OVERTIME:

    1. Los Angeles has scored a power-play goal in each of its last six games (7-for-24) and killed all 19 short-handed situations in the last four contests.

    2. Anaheim RW Corey Perry registered two shots on goal in Game 1, with his best chance at a wide-open net being thwarted by Kings D Alec Martinez early in overtime.

    3. Los Angeles' next playoff win will be the 100th in franchise history.

Bruins at Canadiens: What bettors need to know
            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens (+127, 5)

The Montreal Canadiens are glad to return to the comforts of home after finding themselves in unfamiliar territory following their first loss of the postseason. After squandering a two-goal lead in the third period en route to a 5-3 setback on Saturday, the Canadiens attempt to regain the lead in their Eastern Conference second-round series when they host the Boston Bruins in Game 3 on Tuesday. Boston erupted for four goals in under an eight-minute stretch in the final session as Montreal saw its five-game winning streak come to a halt.

The Canadiens have enjoyed a potent power play in the series, with defenseman P.K. Subban scoring twice in Game 1 and Thomas Vanek doing the same with the man advantage in Game 2. Boston, on the other hand, has seen a significant dip in its power-play production. The Bruins have failed on all five power plays against Montreal after putting forth a blistering 6-for-16 performance in their first-round series versus Detroit.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, RDS

ABOUT THE BRUINS: Defenseman Andrej Meszaros struggled in his first game since returning to the lineup, committing a costly penalty which led to the first of Vanek's two power-play goals. Ironically, Meszaros played in place of fellow blue-liner Matt Bartkowski, who was in the box for holding in the second overtime as Subban scored the winning goal in Game 1. Speaking of defensemen, the team announced that Adam McQuaid underwent arthroscopic surgery on his ankle but did not offer any other details.

ABOUT THE CANADIENS: Although Rene Bourque has been hard to contain in the postseason, he temporarily was held in check by the flu bug on Monday. The team's unlikely leading goal scorer through six games, Bourque missed practice due to the illness, but coach Michel Therrien believes he'll be ready to play on Tuesday. Bourque has netted four tallies and set up another in the postseason after mustering just nine goals and seven assists in 63 regular-season contests.

            TRENDS:

            * Bruins are 2-7 in the last nine meetings
            * Under is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings in Montreal.
            * Bruins are 9-2 in their last 11 Conference Semifinals games.
            * Over is 4-0-2 in Canadiens last six overall.

            OVERTIME:

            1. Boston D Dougie Hamilton has collected two goals and four assists during his five-game point streak.

            2. Subban has recorded multi-point performances in each contest of this series to extend his point streak to five games.

            3. Boston G Tuukka Rask became a father as his girlfriend gave birth to the couple's first child - a girl - over the weekend.

Game of the Day: Penguins at Rangers
                      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Rangers (+101, 5)

With questioning his postseason performance becoming a rite of spring in some circles, Marc-Andre Fleury has quelled that talk by posting back-to-back shutouts to help the Pittsburgh Penguins seize a 2-1 advantage in its Eastern Conference series versus the New York Rangers. The Metropolitan Division champions look to push the Rangers to the brink of elimination when they visit Madison Square Garden for Game 4 on Wednesday. After recording 22 saves in a 3-0 triumph in Game 2 on Sunday, Fleury turned aside 35 shots the following day to register his franchise-best eighth career postseason shutout.

"I've won a lot of hockey games with Marc-Andre Fleury in net, during the regular season and when our team won a Stanley Cup in 2009," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said after his team's 2-0 victory in Game 3. "I don't know who the doubters are and when the questions started about his play ... but I can tell you he wins hockey games for us." Traditionally a punchless power play goes a long way toward losing hockey games as well, with New York failing on all 13 opportunities with the man advantage in the series and 34 straight overall.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, RDS

LINE HISTORY: Books opened the Rangers anywhere from +101 to -110. The total opened at 5.

INJURY REPORT: Penguins - D Brooks Orpik (Out indefinitely, undisclosed). Rangers - LW Chris Kreider (Out indefinitely, hand).

ABOUT THE PENGUINS: Sidney Crosby tucked the puck past Henrik Lundqvist on Monday, the first time the Pittsburgh captain had done so since helping Canada claim the gold against Sweden at the Sochi Olympics. His country's allegiance notwithstanding, Crosby snapped a 13-game postseason goal-scoring drought and also lightened the load of any undo pressure. "It's nice not having to answer (media questions) about it, to be honest," the Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award finalist said. "It's one game. In the playoffs you have to be able to turn the page quickly. It’s nice to finally score."

ABOUT THE RANGERS: Coach Alain Vigneault took a shot at the league's powers-that-be for putting his club in position to play five games in seven nights, becoming the first team to do so in the postseason since 1989. "We were forced to play a stupid schedule, and I'm real proud of how our guys handled it," Vigneault said. The Rangers could receive a boost from the potential return of Chris Kreider, who has missed the last 19 games following surgery on his left hand. Vigneault said he would talk to the doctors before answering any questions on Kreider's availability.

                      TRENDS:

                      * Over is 8-2-1 in the last 11 meetings in New York.

                      * Over is 11-5-1 in Penguins last 17 games playing on 1 days rest.

Home dogs cash in on the ice Tuesday

With the Montreal Canadiens defeating the Boston Bruins 4-2 and the Minnesota Wild clawing their way back into their series with a 4-0 shutout of the Chicago Blackhawks, the home underdogs cashed in Tuesday night.

Both the Habs and Wild closed +117 on the moneyline (Pinnacle Sports) as home dogs.

Being the home dog has been a rare occurrence as it's just the second and third time in the previous seven days that a home team has skated out onto the ice as a dog.

There is just one game on the board Wednesday as the New York Rangers are currently -102 at home versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Wild remain perfect at home in playoffs with win over Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks kept the Minnesota Wild quiet for the first two games of their playoff series, and the first two periods of Game 3. But the final 20 minutes on Tuesday was anything but quiet.

Frustrated offensively for the first eight periods of their series with the Blackhawks, the Wild offense awoke from its slumber in a big way. Left winger Erik Haula and center Mikael Granlund snapped a scoreless tie early in the third period, getting goals less than three minutes apart as the Wild remained perfect at home in the postseason with a 4-0 win. Chicago now leads the best-of-seven Western Conference semifinals series 2-1.

Goaltender Illya Bryzgalov had 19 saves for Minnesota, which managed just three goals in losing the series' first two games in Chicago. Left winger Zach Parise added a power-play goal for the Wild late in the third and Granlund tacked on an empty-net goal with 77 seconds remaining.

NOTES: Blackhawks D Niklas Hjalmarsson could not speak Tuesday, still suffering the effects of a shot by Wild D Jonas Brodin that hit him in the throat during Sunday's game in Chicago. Regardless, Hjalmarsson started on the blue line for the Hawks and took a hooking penalty less than two minutes into the game. ... Wild D Keith Ballard was back in the lineup Tuesday, for the first time in nearly two months. Ballard, a veteran who signed with his home state team over the summer, played 45 regular-season games but had been out of the lineup since suffering a groin injury March 17. He last played in the playoffs in 2012 for the Vancouver Canucks. ... Chicago F Andrew Shaw did not travel to Minnesota for Tuesday game, but the Blackhawks hinted that he may be able to play in Game 4 on Friday. Shaw was injured in the opening game of the series, suffering a right leg injury after a check by Wild D Clayton Stoner. ... Game 4 in the series will be played on Friday night at 9:30 p.m. ET in Minnesota.

Bruins at Canadiens: What bettors need to know
                              ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens (+120, 5)

After squandering a two-goal lead in their prior contest, the Montreal Canadiens didn't let the same advantage slip away in Game 3 as they gained a 2-1 advantage in their Eastern Conference second-round series with the Boston Bruins. The Canadiens look to remain perfect at home in the playoffs and push the Presidents' Trophy winners to the brink of elimination when they host Game 4 on Thursday. Reigning Norris Trophy winner P.K. Subban continued his splendid postseason by collecting a goal and an assist for his third straight multi-point performance and fifth in six contests in Montreal's 4-2 triumph on Tuesday.

Boston has faced two-goal deficits in each of the three contests of the series. To their credit, the Bruins have battled back in each of the games, but coach Claude Julien knows that's a slippery slope to travel. "It's the way our team plays, we play until the end," Julien said. "If we start relying on how we play in the third period, we'll be making a big mistake."

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, RDS

ABOUT THE BRUINS: Jarome Iginla's late goal in Game 3 notwithstanding, Julien has cast a wary eye toward his team's slumping top line. "This is a line that has been hot and cold in the playoffs for us," Julien told the Boston Globe of Iginla, David Krejci and Milan Lucic. "And David, he's shown a little bit of frustration, so he has to battle through that stuff." Collectively, the line has mustered 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in eight postseason games - but Krejci has failed to tally in the playoffs and been held off the scoresheet in two of the three contests versus the Canadiens.

ABOUT THE CANADIENS: Dale Weise is providing some unexpected scoring punch in the postseason. The fourth-liner recorded his second game-winning goal of the playoffs and has tallied five times in 24 contests since being acquired from Vancouver. Lars Eller matched Weise with a goal and an assist in Game 3 to run his point total to eight in seven playoff games. The production is a welcome surprise for Eller, who finished the season with a disappointing six points in his last 35 contests.

                              TRENDS:

                              * Under is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings in Montreal.
                              * Bruins are 2-8 in the last 10 meetings.
                              * Canadiens are 4-0 in their last four home games.
                              * Bruins are 2-6 in their last eight road games.

                              OVERTIME:

                              1. Boston C Patrice Bergeron has scored in back-to-back contests and has recorded three goals and six assists during his seven-game point streak.

                              2. Subban has collected three goals and eight assists during his six-game point streak and leads all NHL defensemen with 11 points in the postseason.

                              3. The Bruins are 0-for-6 on the power play in the series and haven't scored with the man advantage in their last 35 chances against the Canadiens in the playoffs.
