Faster-paced game in Game 2 favored Fresno squad that went 35-43 on foul line in easy (led by 26 with 13:45 left) 89-75 win; Bulldogs scored a ridiculously good 1.31 ppp, making 15-21 inside arc, 8-15 outside. Siena won eight of last ten games, Fresno won 13 of last 17. 11:30 local tipoff time is 8:30 PT. Siena will have home crowd behind then in 4,000-seat arena, but it was not much of a help in Game 2. Four different Bulldogs took 8+ FTs in Game 2. Fresno took total of 13 foul shots in Game 1.

Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City - Out Fri

Oklahoma City PG Russell Westbrook is nursing a groin injury and will miss Friday's game against the Rockets.

Don't expect a shootout between the Kings and Warriors

Under is the unquestionable trend when the Kings and Warriors meet, so don't be expecting a lot of offense.

Sacramento has gone under in 10 of there past 14 overall and have also failed to top the total in eight of their past nine road games. Golden State has also been the top under play all season in the NBA, coming in at an O/U record of 29-44-2.

The past six meetings between these teams in Oracle Arena, have seen them go under five times.

Despite record, Jazz strong ATS play against Pelicans

The Utah Jazz are dead last in the West, but bettors have to look their way against the Pelicans.

The Jazz are 10-3-1 against the spread when New Orleans travels to Utah and the Pelicans have not covered in their last four against the Jazz. The Pelicans have also failed to cover once in the teams three meetings this year, going 0-2-1.

As added incentive, the underdog also has a stellar mark in the series going 10-2-1 ATS in the past 13 meetings.

          NHL

          Friday, April 4

Budaj gets the start for playoff-bound Habs

The Montreal Canadiens will give Carey Price some rest and start Peter Budaj in the crease as they visit the Ottawa Senators Friday evening.

With 93 points and currently third in the Eastern Conference standings, the Canadiens have locked up playoff spot and all that remains now is jockeying for third or fourth position heading into the playoffs.

Budaj has performed admirably when called upon this season. He's posted a record of 9-8-2 and owns a 2.41 goals against average and .910 save percentage.

League-worst offense going under for Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres are horrendous, there is no two ways about it. They average less than two goals per game, and have scored less goals in every single period than any other team in the NHL. It's pretty easy to tell that Buffalo is a good under play.

When the Sabres travel to Detroit, they will also carry added weight for under bettors. In the last six meetings overall between the Red Wings and Sabres have gone under and so too has the last five games at the Joe Louis Arena.

The Wings and Sabres open with a puckline of 5.

Oilers and Coyotes make for scoreboards lighting up

Maybe not the first two teams anyone thinks of when you hear offense, but the Edmonton Oilers and Phoenix Coyotes have a long history of lighting up the lamp against each other.

In the last 62 meetings between the desert dogs and oil country, the teams have topped the total 43 times. That 62 game span also includes an O/U record of 7-22-2 in the desert.

The Coyotes and the Oilers open at a puckline of 5.5.

Capitals at Devils: What bettors need to know
            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Washington Capitals at New Jersey Devils (-127, 5.5)

Two teams in quest of a postseason berth in the Eastern Conference lock horns Friday as the Washington Capitals visit the Metropolitan Division-rival New Jersey Devils. Both clubs enter the matchup out of a playoff spot, with Washington four points behind Columbus for the second wild card in the East and New Jersey trailing the Blue Jackets by five. The teams also respectively sit six and seven points back of Philadelphia for third place in the division.

The Capitals suffered their fourth straight loss and fifth in six games Tuesday, when they were blanked 5-0 by Kari Lehtonen and Dallas. The Devils are coming off their third shootout loss in four contests, a 3-2 setback at Buffalo on Tuesday. New Jersey won the first two meetings before being shut out by Braden Holtby 3-0 on Feb. 8 in Washington.

            TV:
7 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CSN Plus (Washington)

            ABOUT THE CAPITALS (34-29-13):
Alex Ovechkin's lead in his attempt at a fourth Maurice Richard Trophy is down to seven goals as Anaheim's Corey Perry - the 2011 winner - tallied twice on Wednesday to raise his total to 41. Ovechkin - who has scored only four times in his last 13 games - has not tallied at even strength since Feb. 27 at Florida, netting seven power-play goals in the meantime. The captain also owns a dubious mark as he enters Friday with a league-worst minus-36 rating.

            ABOUT THE DEVILS (32-28-16):
New Jersey must avoid the shootout if it hopes to post victories, as it has lost 15 straight trips to the bonus format - including all 11 this season. The club has converted just 3-of-39 attempts, with two coming in Tuesday's setback. Rookie defenseman Jon Merrill practiced with a full cage on his helmet Thursday and could be in the lineup against Washington after missing two games with facial injuries.

            TRENDS:

            * Under is 5-1 in the last six meetings in New Jersey.
            * Capitals are 2-7 in the last nine meetings.
            * Capitals are 3-13 in their last 16 vs. Metropolitan.
            * Devils are 2-6 in their last eight vs. Eastern Conference.

            OVERTIME:

            1. Ovechkin has posted better than an even plus/minus rating only once in his last 22 games.

            2. Only one of the Devils' final five games is against a team occupying a playoff spot. They host conference champion Boston in the season finale.

            3. Peter DeBoer's next victory will be his 100th as New Jersey's coach.

First game at Coors Field gets highest total this season

Not surprisingly, baseballs most hitter friendly park has gotten the largest total so far in this early season.

The Rockies will host the Diamondbacks with an O/U total of 10. Neither team has been especially hot offensively so far this season. Colorado is averaging 3.75 runs per game and Arizona is averaging 4 runs per game.

Twins have a troubling record against Indians

The Minnesota Twins have not really gotten off to a blistering start this season and Friday may be no different.

The Twins have have dropped the last six meetings against the Cleveland Indians, including every game in a four-game series to end last season in which they were outscored 28-13.

Minnesota does slightly better when they travel to Cleveland, holding a far from impressive 3-7 record in their last 10 in Progressive Field.

The Twins (+161) will be in action against the Indians (-175) Friday.
