Yeah it started pouring but they rode around 3 or so laps under caution with no rain and everyone, drivers, announcers were looking around asking what the hell is going on and what is the caution for. Everyone was like well NASCAR hasn't said anything and nobody knows as they were just driving around under yellow with 3 to go. It was pretty funny. I told the wife ok, that was simply to tighten up the field for a crazy finish. Had no idea why it came out. I said either that or the lights all malfunctioned. Then out of nowhere it started pouring out. Could have easily finished under green if the caution had not come out though.

The phantom yellow had no impact on the ultimate outcome of the race, but it was an embarrassing gaffe, as NASCAR's vice president of competition and racing development Robin Pemberton explained afterward.
"What had happened in the closing laps of the race, it appears that in the flag stand one of the flag people had leaned on the switch that is the manual override for the caution lights, and so that happened," said Pemberton. "When the flag stand realized that the caution lights were illuminated, the flag man threw the (caution) flag, and then after that happened we froze the field from the tower.
