Guys, Spark could really use your thoughts and prayers right now. He had another stroke about 10-14 days ago. This was not small like the last one. It was a full blown major stroke. I have not said anything to anyone except Monte because I wanted to see how well, if at all, he was going to make out. He has lost the use of his right hand and arm right now. He is still in the hospital and they are still doing tests on him daily. It was a viral infection to his heart that caused this one. They will do some more tests tomorrow to determine whether or not he will need heart surgery. As far as the hand and arm go, not sure if or when he will get that back or not. He is not doing well guys and it was really touch & go for a while there. Please keep him in your prayers because he can use all the help he can get right now.
Responding to people isn't easy for him right now because of his condition and because he is still in the hospital. He did tell me today that I could let all his buddies at BC know though that he is still kicking and still fighting. He has been down a bit mentally and discouraged with it all but I told him I was thinking about him every single day and to fight hard to get through it.
I knew something was wrong a couple weeks ago when I noticed he had not been here since January. After many texts and phone calls that were not responded to, I really knew something was wrong and unfortunately when he finally got back to me those feelings were confirmed. I have been sick to my stomach since he told me what happened. I really have.
Anybody here who knows joe or has talked to joe knows what kind of man he is. Even though I have been here longer than joe I have always looked up to him and he has truly been like a mentor to me. I lost my dad about 10 years ago and Joe has been there for me through my moms cancer and anything else I have ever needed. He has given me some great advice over the years and he has really been there any time I needed him, through good times here and bad, Joe has always stood by me and had my best interest in mind.
I don't mean to blabber guys but joe means that much to me and many of you here and I am heartbroken for him. Please give him a shout out here because he will read it at some point and it may even put a smile on his face when he sees how many people here truly are rooting for him.
