      • Top 10 - Stock Watch

        February 25, 2014

Two weeks before conference tournaments begin and we have seen the Top 10 jockey positions plenty of times, especially at the top spot. With only a few weeks left before the NCAA Tournament, let’s see how many of the schools below can maintain their positions.

        1) Florida: (25-2 SU, 11-11-1 ATS) - BUY

I think we can trust the Gators to win out the remainder of the season. They have lost two games, both on the road with a combined total of seven points. With road trips to Vanderbilt and South Carolina left on the schedule, Florida should roll into the SEC Tournament extremely confident.

        2) Wichita State: (20-0 SU, 19-6-1 ATS) - HOLD

With an ATS record of 19-6-1, Vegas can’t seem to find a line high enough for the Shockers. Their last threat (if you call it that) is Bradley on the road, but the line is still double digits, giving an opportunity for a back door cover. I still believe holding on the Shockers until tournament time is the smart play.

        3) Arizona: (25-2 SU, 16-10 ATS) - HOLD

The Wildcats aren’t out of the woods yet. Three of the four teams left on the schedule are considered “bubble teams.” However they have California and Stanford at home this week. Can Zona’ keep the intensity and energy up for these two important games?

        4) Syracuse: (26-2 SU, 13-9-2 ATS) - SELL

The Orange has had a rough week and it’s not going to get any easier. After losing back-to-back games and nearly getting beat for the third time to Maryland, I believe their biggest challenge is yet to come…Virginia. This will be the third consecutive game on the road for Syracuse and it’s too much.

        5) Kansas: (22-6 SU, 14-13-1 ATS) - SELL

The Jayhawks will have their hands full as they travel to Stillwater to play Oklahoma State this Saturday. The Cowboys desperately need this win. Kansas is 4-5 ATS on the road and I don’t see this record improving. I’m selling.

        6) Duke: (22-6 SU, 17-10-1 ATS) - SELL

The Blue Devils finally get a chance to relax and play scrimmage ball against Virginia Tech this week. The problem for bettors is the line will be too high for comfort, so I have no choice but to hold on Duke. There will be plenty of opportunity to bet the Devils when they play the Tar Heels next week.

        7) Louisville: (23-4 SU, 14-11 ATS) - HOLD

The Cardinals will have a tough matchup against Memphis on the road this weekend. However, in their last six games they have dominated opponents beating them by an average of 21 points. The Cardinals are hot, but this will be the Tigers most important game of the season.

        8) Villanova: (24-3 SU, 17-8 ATS) - SELL

I’m not so much worried about Villanova playing Butler as I am Marquette, but the good news is they are both Philly. Getting crushed by Creighton for the second time, has me concerned that teams are figuring out how to play 'Nova, resulting in closer games the second time around.

        9) Creighton: (23-4 SU, 16-10 ATS) - BUY

The Bluejays have shocked me on how well they have handled the transition to another conference. The difference in caliber of play between the Missouri Valley and Big East Conference are night and day. Creighton will win the Big East and Doug McDermott will get “Player of The Year” honors. Not a bad inaugural start.

        10) Saint Louis: (25-2 SU, 9-15 ATS) – SELL

Although the Billikens have won plenty of games, they have a hard time covering spreads. Their last four games are 0-4 ATS. They get VCU on the road this week and Shaka Smart and the Rams will bring the “havoc” to make sure the trend continues.

        • Tuesday's Tip Sheet

          February 25, 2014

          **Florida at Vanderbilt**

-- Florida (25-2 straight up, 11-11-1 against the spread) took over the nation's No. 1 ranking Monday for the first time during the regular season since Feb. 12 of 2007. However, head coach Billy Donovan downplayed the significance and told the Gainesville Sun, "Anytime that happens, it's an honor. In reality, that means nothing for our preparation for Vanderbilt. I don't think our guys are playing for rankings."

-- As of early Monday night, most books had UF listed as an 8.5-point favorite for Tuesday's trip to Music City. The Gators own a 2-3 spread record in five games as road favorites.

-- Florida is coming off a 75-71 win Saturday at Ole Miss. UF failed to cover the number as a seven-point favorite because Martevius Newby buried a 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds remaining to give gamblers on the Rebels the ATS victory. The game was tied at intermission and most spots made the Gators 4.5 or five-point favorites for the second half, so Newby's trey also beat bettors who took UF at halftime.

-- Scottie Wilbekin scored 18 points and dished out seven assists at The Tad Pad. At this point, Wilbekin appears to be the favorite to win SEC Player of the Year honors. Michael Frazier II got up 200 shots Saturday morning in Oxford, leaving the hotel for the arena before the rest of the team. The work paid off as Frazier knocked down 5-of-10 from deep and finished with 17 points.

-- Vanderbilt (15-11 SU, 13-10-2) has made the most of what easily could've been a lost season. Along with Texas Tech's Tubby Smith, Kevin Stallings has done one of the more underrated coaching jobs in America this season. The Commodores lost three likely starters during the off-season, and then their leading scorer and starting point guard was dismissed from school in early January. Nevertheless, the 'Dores have remained extremely competitive and own a 7-7 record in SEC play. The .500 league record has come about despite the presence of only seven healthy scholarship players.

-- Despite trailing 32-25 at intermission of Saturday's game at Auburn, Vandy dominated the second half en route to a 67-59 win as a 4.5-point underdog. Dai-Jon Parker was the catalyst with a game-high 21 points. He drained 5-of-9 attempts from 3-point range.

-- Vandy has been a home underdog six times, posting a 2-3-1 spread record with a pair of outright wins over Tennessee and Missouri.

-- On the prospect of possibly beating the nation's No. 1-ranked team, Stallings told The Tennessean, “It would be very, very gratifying to be able to be victorious against a team of their caliber. But talking about it and wishing on it and all that kind of stuff is a lot different than doing it. It would take our best game of the season, unquestionably."

-- When these teams met at The O-Dome in Gainesville last season, Florida stroked Vandy 66-40 as a 19.5-point home 'chalk.' However, Memorial Gymnasium has been a venue where the Gators have enjoyed much success over the last several decades. The 'Dores beat UF 77-67 in the last meeting in Nashville two years ago.

-- The 'over' has hit in back-to-back games for UF, but the 'under' is 15-7-1 overall.

-- The 'under' has cashed in four consecutive Vandy games and nine of its last 10. The 'Dores have seen the 'under' go 17-6-2 overall, 8-3-2 in their home games.

-- Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.

          **Wichita State at Bradley**

-- As of late Monday night, most books had second-ranked Wichita State (29-0 SU, 19-6-1 ATS) listed as a 12-point road favorite.

-- Wichita State has won eight in a row over Bradley both SU and ATS, including a 72-50 win as a 17.5-point home 'chalk' on Jan. 14. Fred VanVLeet was the catalyst for the Shockers, producing 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. VanVLeet also contributed seven rebounds, three steals and three assists compared to just one turnover.

-- Gregg Marshall's squad has covered the spread in three straight games and five of its last six, including Saturday's 83-54 win over Drake as a 16-point home favorite. Tekele Cotton led the way for Wichita State with 21 points and seven steals. VanVleet added 15 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals without committing a turnover. Darius Carter also had 15 points and blocked four shots.

-- Bradley (12-17 SU, 9-16-1 ATS) has won 11 of its 15 home games, going 6-5-1 ATS. The Braves ended a three-game losing slide both SU and ATS with Saturday's 55-38 win over Loyola-Illinois as 4.5-point home favorites. Walt Lemon Jr. led the winners with 16 points and five steals.

-- Bradley has been a home underdog four times this year, compiling a 2-2 record both SU and ATS.

-- Wichita State owns a 9-1 spread record as a road favorite. As double-digit road 'chalk,' the Shockers are 4-0 ATS.

-- The 'over' has hit in five consecutive Wichita State games to improve to 14-12-1 overall.

-- The 'under' has been an extraordinary money maker in Bradley games, cashing at a 20-4-1 overall clip. The 'under' is 9-2 in the Braves' 11 lined home games.

-- ESPN2 will have the telecast at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.

          **B.E.'s Bonus Nuggets**

-- Missouri will be seeking revenge for an overtime home loss to Georgia when it invades Stegeman Coliseum in Athens on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs won a 70-64 decision as 11.5-point road underdogs back on January 8. Most books have installed UGA as a 1.5-point home favorite. Mark Fox's team is third in the SEC with a 9-5 league record, and it has won 12 of 14 home games while going 8-4 ATS.

-- Kansas State has lost six straight road games and its only true road win came at TCU. The Wildcats, who are No. 42 in the RPI Rankings, play Tuesday at Texas Tech in a pick 'em matchup. The Red Raiders are 10-5 SU and 8-4 ATS at home.

-- The 'under' is on an 8-1 run in Texas Tech games.

-- Syracuse shook off back-to-back defeats to win 57-55 Monday at Maryland. However, the Terrapins took the cash as four-point home underdogs. Tyler Ennis and C.J. Fair scored 20 and 17 points, respectively, to pace the Orange. Seth Allen hit six 3-pointers and scored 22 points for the Terps, but his off-balance 3-point attempt at the buzzer was off the mark.

-- After losing seven straight games and struggling through a 0-8 ATS slide, Oklahoma State has won a pair of games both SU and ATS over a 48-hour stretch. The Cowboys finished strong last night in Ft. Worth on its way to a 76-54 triumph as 13.5-point road favorites. Marcus Smart produced 17 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals, while Phil Forte scored a game-high 23 points. --Texas Tech might be without Jaye Crockett tonight due to knee tendinitis. Crockett is expected to be a game-time decision ('questionable' officially as of 12:15 p.m. Eastern) vs. Kansas St. Crockett averages 14.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

-- Seton Hall, a 5.5-point favorite tonight at DePaul, owns a 7-1 spread record in eight lined road games this year.

-- UF back-up freshman point guard Kasey Hill is 'doubtful' tonight at Vandy. Hill (5.6 PPG) will most likely miss his third straight game due to a groin injury.

          • Hot & Not

            February 25, 2014

Winning and losing in college basketball betting is often a fine line. There are a number of teams in the nation who have been at the tops of their games for the last three weeks, covering at least five games in a row.

North Carolina Tar Heels (9-0 ATS L/9) – There just isn't a team in the land who has done more to help itself than North Carolina. The Heels have ripped off nine wins both SU and ATS in a row since losing to Virginia on the road, and in that mix include a couple important wins over teams like Pitt, FSU, and most important of all, Duke. There are still four games left in the regular season and plenty of work to be done, but at least the Tar Heels now know they are dancing even if they lost all of their remaining games.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane (7-0 ATS L/7) – If you want to try to find a dark horse team in Conference USA to perhaps steal the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, Tulsa might be that team. The Golden Hurricane are on fire, having won five in a row SU and seven consecutive from an ATS standpoint. Granted, they have been tearing through the bottom part of a weak conference, but the Golden Hurricane have some real talent. Don't let that 15-12 record fool you. This is a team which can beat the big boys in C-USA.

Fresno State Bulldogs (7-0 ATS L/7) – The Bulldogs have won six of their last seven games SU, including pulling upsets on the road against Air Force, Nevada, and most notably, Utah State. Fresno State has the chance to prove that it can play with the big boys these next couple games at home, as it hosts Boise State and San Diego State. All of a sudden if those two games are won and this team can close out the regular season at 17-14, there are going to be some very uncomfortable bubble dwellers in the Mountain West who definitely don't want to run into this squad in Sin City.

Southern Illinois Salukis (6-0 ATS L/6) – The MVC hasn't had the best of seasons, mainly because Wichita State has just mowed right through everyone. However, one of the rare teams to score a cover against the Shockers this season has been Southern Illinois, and that happened on the road just a few weeks ago. That was a part of a six-game cover streak for the Salukis. G Desmar Jackson is averaging over 19 points per game this season, but it is the defense, which has held five out of six foes (Wichita State being the exception) to 64 points or fewer, that’s made all the difference.

Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-0 ATS L/5) – It's not just the five straight wins and covers for the Huskers that have our attention. It's the fact that they are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games, all of which have come in the tough to navigate through Big Ten. All of a sudden, five straight victories though, has this team back in the tourney mix after seemingly being dead in the water just a few weeks ago. Nebraska's defense is legit, and it just might carry Coach Miles’ kids into the dance this year

            • Armadillo: Tuesday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but.....

              13) Was happy to see Dale Earnhardt Jr so excited Sunday night after he won the Daytona 500, his was pure joy. Lot of celebrities, they become too cool to show when they’re really, really happy, this was fun to watch.

              12) There is too much speculation about who is in/out of the NCAA tournament, as if it were an ongoing selection process. ESPN reports Joe Lunardi’s stuff like it is fact; while he is usually very good with his analysis, it isn’t fact. “Oh, if Tennessee wins at Texas A&M, they’ll move into the field.” That type of “reporting” is just wrong. The committee will come up with the 68 teams in three weeks; those will be the facts.

              11) Jadeveon Clowney ran a strong 40-yard dash at the Combine, somewhere between 4.47 and 4.53, depending on who you believe. Clowney didn’t have a strong senior year at South Carolina, but the success Vontaze Burfict had with the Bengals after a sub-par senior season at Arizona State will only help Clowney’s status. NFL Draft is May 8 and its going to be interesting.

              10) Why wouldn’t a quarterback prospect throw at the Combine? What do they have to lose? Seems like agents are stifling the kids from showing their skills. If I was a prospect like Johnny Manziel, I’d want the whole league to see what I can do, let them know that I’m anxious to show off my skills. Guess that’s one of many reasons why I’m not an agent.

              9) Lookalikes: golfer Victor Dubuisson and Brad Pitt, especially when they are wearing sun visors.

              8) Included in Jim Boeheim’s post-game whining Saturday night was a complaint that the Orange had to play at Maryland last night after playing at Duke Saturday, while the Terrapins had Saturday off. Seems like a fair complaint, but the ACC ain’t trying do to Maryland any favors, seeing as they’re bolting the ACC for the Big Dozen. Sometimes things just happen.

              7) On flip side of Boeheim’s meltdown was UNLV’s Dave Rice reacting like an adult to the Rebels getting hosed by a replay review at Boise State, which cost UNLV a game it had apparently already won.

My only question is this; if Rice was more of a bastard, prone to outbursts, would he have been more likely to get that call? Does yelling/working refs get you an extra call or two a game?

Would Bob Huggins or John Calipari have gotten that call? I’m just asking, and by the way, the basket UNLV scored should’ve counted, seeing as it was called good on the floor and no replay clearly showed it wasn’t good.

              6) Its funny that Gene Simmons owns part of an Arena Football team, the LA Kiss; Simmons is highly skilled at making money, but he isn’t a sports fan, something he made clear on his reality TV show. Speaks well of the AFL that he invested in it though. His QB is likely to be Colt Brennan, who played college ball at Hawai’i.

              5) In case you’re wondering, in an average NBA game, each team has the ball 96 or 97 times a game.

              4) Syracuse 57, Maryland 55-- Terps outscored Orange 19-3 on foul line, but turned ball over 18 times (-7), wasting too many possessions to pull a big upset. Syracuse is very shaky right now; they play Virginia next.

              3) Texas Rangers extended Ron Washington's contract thru the 2015 season, so he will not enter this year as a lame duck manager.

              2) Sounds like the 49ers have a problem, in that Jim Harbaugh doesn’t get along well with the team’s other decision makers, to the point where he or some of the others may have to go.

Pat Riley wrote a book about how teams are constructed then either thrive or fall apart; this part he called “The Disease of Me” where people think they are the reason the team is winning, rather than the collective effort being the reason. Curious to see how this plays out, but how do the 49ers let Harbaugh walk?

              1) RIP Harold Ramis. One of the great comedic minds of our time, Ramis was Bill Murray’s sidekick in Stripes, was a regular on Second City TV and was behind scenes in movies like Animal House, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, just a brilliant, funny mind. 69 is too young to go. Rest in peace, sir.

                      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SEC becoming most 'unbettable' conference in college basketball
                      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When someone says college football, the first thing that comes to mind is the SEC.

Now, do the same with college basketball. Not the same reaction, is it?

While programs like Kentucky and Florida continue to find themselves among the country’s basketball elite, the rest of the SEC has suffered a major downgrade in quality this season. A quick look at the SEC standings reveals that beyond the Wildcats and Gators, the remaining programs have barely kept their heads above water.

Georgia is third in the conference, putting together a 9-5 SU SEC record but is anything but a shoo-in to hear its name called on Selection Sunday. Below the Bulldogs is a variable Purgatory of ho-hum basketball teams, with seven programs locked at 7-7 SU in SEC play heading into Monday night. Outside of Florida's 19-game winning streak, the longest string of victories in the SEC currently is Arkansas' three-game run (1-2 ATS).

Things are even bleaker in the SEC when your factor in the pointspread. The breadwinner of the conference just so happens to be its worst team. South Carolina sits in the basement of the SEC with a 10-17 record and a 3-11 mark in conference play but is 13-9-2 ATS. And that’s about as good as it gets betting inside the SEC, which is quickly becoming an unbettable conference.

Top teams like Florida, Kentucky and Missouri are all sitting around .500 ATS and the only other programs covering more often than not are Tennessee (14-11 ATS) and Vanderbilt (13-10-2 ATS) – not exactly bursting with betting value. Trying to get a tight grasp on the SEC odds from night to night is like pulling a mid-tantrum child who has gone limp off the floor - a lot harder than it looks and extremely frustrating.

The SEC currently ranks sixth out of the seven major conferences in college basketball – ACC, AAC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, Pac-12 – in RPI, ahead of the mutant American Athletic Conference. The Atlantic 10, which is still considered a mid-major league, sits higher than the SEC in RPI at 0.5618. CBSSports.com’s Jerry Palm predicts just three bids from the SEC in his latest mock NCAA tournament bracket.

One take on the downfall of SEC hoops is that the conference’s members are focusing all their time and resources on the football teams – college sports’ true cash cow.

Jacob Kornhauser, a writer for Rant Sports, believes football-focused programs like Alabama and Texas A&M could really care less about their basketball records, pointing to the Aggies’ new 111,000-seat renovations to their football stadium. Those two football powers are a combined 12-16 SU in SEC play with a collective 22-24-3 ATS record on the year.

Jon Solomon, a writer with AL.com, has done a series of articles exploring the downfall of SEC basketball, looking at the overall lack of top-tier talent in the league as well as dwindling interest from fans. His most recent piece debates that SEC basketball coaches aren’t on the same level as their football counterparts, comparing winning percentage and salaries. His two exceptions - Florida's Billy Donovan and UK's John Calipari - have a combined NCAA record of 69-24. The rest of the coaches in the SEC boast a unimpressive 35-34 mark.

When comparing the SEC football teams’ ATS success to that of its basketball teams, the pigskin profits piled up thanks to programs like Auburn (12-2 ATS) and Missouri (11-2-1 ATS) which ranked among the best bets in college football.

Perhaps SEC bettors should hibernate for the remaining weeks of the college hoops season, and set the alarm for Week 1 of college football. Or just accept that your conference is in the crapper. You can always bet the Over/Under...

                        Tuesday, February 25

                        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ACC's slow-motion pace paying out for Under bettors
                        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ACC is moving in slow motion compared to the rest of the country which is making Under bettors rich quick.

According to NCAAB stats expert Ken Pomeroy, the ACC is currently the slowest-paced conference in college hoops, ranking 32nd out of the 32 conferences in terms of pace. ACC teams are currently chewing up the shot clock and getting fewer possessions per game which is leading to lower scoring.

That methodical pace has helped Under bettors score during ACC action, with the conference boasting a 92-116 Over/Under record (56 percent Under) heading into Monday’s schedule.

“I think (the 35-second shot clock) gives people flexibility to play the way they want to play,” Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton told NoleSports.com. “I think that’s what makes college basketball so interesting.”

Only North Carolina and Maryland rank in the Top 100 of Pomeroy's tempo stats, but even the Terps have a 5-8 Over/Under record in conference play showing that it’s been hard for teams to escape the slow pace in the ACC.

Covers Expert Sean Murphy predicts that despite the Pomeroy numbers, consistent Unders from ACC teams may be a trend that’s on the way out with the postseason around the corner.

"To be honest, I think we'll see value going the other way as the ACC tournament, and NCAA Tournament approach," says Murphy. "The conference may be a little top-heavy, but it boasts plenty of offensive talent, even if the pace has lacked at times.

“It's not as if this is a conference that's loaded with defensive powerhouses. We should see those Over/Under records start to move back toward the mean in the next month or so."

For now, bettors should look at specific schools when riding the wave of low-scoring ACC games as schools like Syracuse (12-2 Under), Virginia (9-6 Under), Miami (9-4 Under), and Virginia Tech (11-2 Under) have all been paying out on the Under for months now.

Florida tops in the nation, not at the betting window

Florida has finally ascended to the top of the national rankings, and all the Gators had to do was win 19 games in a row to get there. Syracuse’s two-game skid allowed the Gators (25-2 SU) to take the top spot.

However, as impressive as Florida’s SU run has been, the results at the betting window haven’t matched up. The Gators are just 11-11 ATS this year, and during their 19-game win streak, they’ve cashed just eight times, including ATS losses in their last two starts, against Auburn and at Mississippi.

New Mexico sizzles ATS in last 10 games

New Mexico is coming off a statement victory over then-No. 6 San Diego State on Saturday, ripping the Aztecs 58-44 as a 4-point home chalk. But the Lobos have been making statements on the floor and at the betting window for the past five weeks.

Entering a Jan. 18 contest at Fresno State, New Mexico was 12-4 SU and a meager 3-9 ATS. Since then, the Lobos have gone on a 9-1 SU and ATS spree.

Duke faces its biggest spread since the New Year

The Duke Blue Devils will face a spread larger than 20 points for the first time since Dec. 16. The Blue Devils are 2-3 against the spread when it is 20 or more points this season.

Duke will welcome the Virginia Tech Hokies as a 21.5-point home favorite.

Minnesota opening as a small home-dog against Iowa

The Minnesota Golden Gophers, who have been stellar at home, are only getting 2.5 points against the No.19 Iowa Hawkeyes. In the past three meetings between the Gophers and the Hawkeyes, Minnesota averaged 59.6 points per game while Iowa averaged 76 ppg.

When these teams met earlier this year, Minnesota lost 94-73.

Five struggling SU teams thriving ATS

If you look at the top 10 teams in the nation against the spread (ATS), you'll notice that a team doesn’t have to be lights out straight-up (SU) in order to be a good bet.

Five of the top 10 ATS teams already have 10 or more SU losses, including Cleveland State (19-10 SU), which is tied with Wichita State for first with a 19-6-1 ATS mark. Tulsa (15-12 SU, 17-7 ATS), Nebraska (16-10 SU, 17-8 ATS), Pepperdine (15-13 SU, 17-8 ATS) and Portland (15-13 SU, 18-9-1 ATS) have all lost 10 or more SU while still getting the job done at the betting window.

                                ATS winning streak

Nebraska doesn’t have much of a basketball pedigree. The last time the Cornhuskers heard their name called on Selection Sunday, Bill Clinton was still almost a year away from being impeached. In all, Nebraska has made only six NCAA tournament appearances. And while the Huskers will likely have to shock the basketball world in the Big Ten tournament (something they have never done) to get in this season, they’re making things interesting for non-bettors and bettors alike. Their neat five-game SU winning streak is paralleled by a five-game ATS win streak, and Nebraska is now 16-10 overall and above water (8-6) in the conference. And there’s more good news: Nebraska’s next three opponents (Illinois, Northwestern and Indiana) are a combined 14-28 in the league.

Brian Shaw certainly didn’t sign on for this. Hired late as head coach of the Nuggets, Shaw has been trying to apply the brakes to the fire-drill offense the Nuggets used for years under George Karl. But injuries (Danillo Gallinari, Nate Robinson and JaVale McGee are out for the year, and Ty Lawson has been out with a broken rib) have intervened. It’s all added up to what is likely to be a sub-.500 season. The Nuggets have won only one game since their best player, Lawson, went down with a broken rib, and Denver has covered only once in the last nine games. Lawson is due back Tuesday and five of the next six are at home, but the damage appears to have been done.

Exactly when did the Detroit Pistons decide that it was in their best interest to stop playing defense? In their last four games the Pistons have given up 108 and 116 in a back-to-back set against Charlotte, 107 to Atlanta and 113 to Dallas. Naturally, all games went over, and Detroit is now an astounding 40-16 O/U this season, with the last four all breaking the ceiling. This team has Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond to protect the rim and still gives up more points than all but four teams. Opponents shoot better against the Pistons (nearly 47 percent) than anyone else. Not hard to understand why so many Detroit games exceed the number.

NEXT UP: Monday vs. Golden State (Pistons +2.5, 209)
