    Defense

    WSU (102nd)

    10* Colorado St +5 (2:05 PM)

The biggest factor in most of these Bowl games is finding out which team is motivated. Usually one is happy to be here and one isn't. In this game though, you have 2 teams very happy to be playing. Wash St seems to have a decided advantage vs the Rams pass defense but Colorado St is a very balanced team and they also have a big advantage when on offense. Unlike Wash St, they will not be one dimensional in this game. They can beat you with the pass or with Bibbs running. I really like the Rams here. I think they have the better offense and the better defense. I also like the fact that they are real close to Home and they should have the fans in their corner for this one. Colorado St 38 Wash. St 31

    USC vs Fresno St

    FSU (45.3)

    Points Against
    USC (21.3)
    FSU (29.1)

    USC (79th)
    FSU (3rd)

    Defense
    USC (16th)
    FSU (92nd)

    5* "7 PT." Teaser = USC (+.5) - (O56) -130 (3:35 PM)

You have strength vs strength here with the Fresno offense vs the USC defense. I like USC in this game. Remember what I said in the previous game about motivation? I think it favors USC here. The Trojans have a totally different mindset this year compared to last. They wanted no part of the Sun Bowl last season and they couldn't be happier in Las Vegas for this one. On the other side is a Fresno team that on Thanksgiving, they were wondering which BCS game they would be going to. They recovered from the late season loss to beat a Chuckie Keeton less Utah St team at home to end their season. Still, I don't believe for a minute that they are satisfied with being here. I think the USC defense makes Derek Carr play more like David Carr and they get the job done Saturday. The Fresno offense has been potent all season though and that's why I am teasing it. I think both teams will score some points but I do not want to worry about a late backdoor TD by Fresno if USC is up 10 or 13 points. USC 37 Fresno St 27

            Buffalo vs San Diego St

            Points For
            Buff (30.8)
            SDSU (28.2)

            Points Against
            Buff (22.3)
            SDSU (32.3)

            Offense
            Buff (71st)
            SDSU (58th)

            Defense
            Buff (43rd)
            SDSU (58th)

            5* Buffalo -1 (5:35 PM)

I like Buffalo for a few reasons here. I think the offense is a wash on both sides. Buffalo scored a few more points but SDSU had a slight yardage advantage. On defense the advantage clearly goes to Buffalo. They will have the best player on the field on defense in LB Mack. He is a beast. Another reason why I like Buffalo is ... wait for it ....... Motivation. I think they are pretty excited for this game and i'm not so sure SDSU is. Leaving the surroundings of San Diego to go play Buffalo in a Bowl game in Boise, Idaho? I have to believe advantage there goes to Buffalo. The third reason why I like Buffalo is the weather. The forecast is for cold weather and a chance of snow. Buffalo will adapt to the conditions much quicker than SDSU will. They had 1 common opponent this year. They both went to Ohio St early in the season. Buffalo lost by 20 in a tight game until the end and SDSU lost by 35 and they were never in it. Buffalo 27 SDSU 20

              UL Lafayette vs Tulane

              Points For
              ULL (34.6)
              Tul (25.1)

              Points Against
              ULL (26.9)
              Tul (21.2)

              Offense
              ULL (51st)
              Tul (118th)

              Defense
              ULL (57th)
              Tul (26th)

              3* Tulane -2.5 (-120) (9:05 PM)

Your guess is as good as mine as to whether or not ULL QB Broadway plays in this one. Would it make a difference if he plays? Absolutely. Would it change my play? Probably not. Tulane is playing this game on their home field. I have not looked ahead but i'm not sure too many other teams can say that. ULL has been totally inept on offense without Broadway and even if he starts, he should be rusty at best after a long layoff. Tulane 28 ULL 20

                    Ohio vs East Carolina

                    Points For
                    Ohio (28.0)
                    ECU (40.4)

                    Points Against
                    Ohio (26.7)
                    ECU (25.2)

                    Offense
                    Ohio (88th)
                    ECU (30th)

                    Defense
                    Ohio (56th)
                    ECU (30th)

                    5* East Carolina -14 (2:05 PM)

These are teams going in totally different directions, in spite of their final game of the season. Ohio comes in off a win over (1-11) UMass but in their previous 3 games before that (all losses), they were outscored by 36 ppg. They are also (1-8) Ats in their L9 following a win. On the other side you have a potent ECU attack looking to break a 4 game Bowl losing streak. They lost their last game of the season at Marshall but in their previous 5 games before that (All Wins), they outscored those opponents by an average of 31.8 ppg. They are (9-0) Ats in their L9 games following a loss. Ohio will have a really tough time matching points on offense in this one. ECU is stronger on both sides of the ball and everything else points in their direction as well. East Carolina 45 Ohio 20

                        Oregon St vs Boise St

                        Points For
                        OSU (34.5)
                        Boise (38.8)

                        Points Against
                        OSU (32.1)
                        Boise (23.8)

                        Offense
                        OSU (25th)
                        Boise (24th)

                        Defense
                        OSU (95th)
                        Boise (75th)

                        5* Oregon St -3 (8:05 PM)

Both teams have a Top 25 offense and a defense that has a lot to be desired. Oregon St enters this contest on a 5 game losing streak. With that said, there is a reason why they are still favored at (6-6) over a (8-4) team. The Beavers finished the season with a 1 point loss at Oregon. They also lost to USC, Stanford (by only 8), Ariz St and Washington in the other 4 games. All 5 teams are going to a Bowl game and none of them were easy matchups. They are well seasoned against stiff competition and with Boise losing HC Peterson and with them also suspending QB Southwick less than a week before the game, and sending him home, I like Oregon St and their chances to get back on the winning side of things. QB Hedrick has started a few games for Boise this season but I don't see him matching points with QB Mannion in Hawaii. Oregon St 38 Boise St 27

                        GOOD LUCK
