Rough first day back but glad I went small. San Fran stranded a lot of guys last night (similar to the O's) and low and behold both teams ended up losing. Oh well, onto today.

Locke has been one of the luckier pitchers in baseball over the course of the year. He averages about 6 k's per 9 innings and has an absurdly low .218 BABIP so far this year. Now he could possibly be this good, that is very true. However I am not buying it. With a DIPS ERA of 4.0, I am not seeing someone who is truly that great of a pitcher, yet. Add in the fact that the .218 BABIP avergage Locke has held opponents to this year is lower than Harvey, King Felix, Wainright, Sherzer and Bucholz, just to name a few. I do not see this kid in that class just yet, hence the large play. Add in that Saunders typically pitches better at home where is is 4-2 on the year with a 1.08 WHIP and 2.53 ERA and I feel you have value on the Seattle side.
