Before you go any further take notice of the weekly record ( 29-45-2 ) and if thats not bad enough heed my warnings that I will not give up . The good with the bad often go hand in hand but this has got to end someday and I praying its today ( cash flow sucs )

I dont usually employ this method of capping this early , but you just have to go with the flow and do whats needed when its needed so I get straight to it .

Only time will tell , Thanks Homer as this is a bad bleeder and we need pressure applied in a bad way . Hopefully the switch in capping style was all that was needed ?

This is my final cut because Im off to the Dairyland Track for a little fun and some biz too.

I wish you all the best , but from the looks of things most of you dont need it because overall the only one to fade around here has been me .

        Question to Memphis Mafia

This is my first year betting and I have only bet on football but
since football season is over except for a few playoff games I
would like to bet on basketball but I need to try and understand
it first. I am going to try and follow it for a few weeks before I
        bet on it.
Yesterday one of your picks was Louisiana Tech +1 over Rice
and you made that one of your 3 top picks but I don't know
what reasons you may have had for picking them. So I would
appreciate it if you could state them. I live in Housto Texas and
I see the reports on the Rice team and they have a good team
this year as a few days ago they played U Conn which is one of
the top teams in the country and they did manage to stay with
them and only lost by 9 points which covered the spread. I know
the Rice La Tech game was at La Tech so I don't know how
much home court advantage is considered in college basketball.
Could you state how many points home court is given by
handicappers in college basketball. I hope these question arn't
        to dumb.
I appreciate the time and effort you put in to making your picks
so I would like to encourage you to continue to do so as I am
sure your results will change and get better.

        Thank You

          swradio :

Your questions are just and deserve a good answer , 1st. of all the ball game :

Rice @ La. Tech = a conference game , thats a 1 point home dog in the first conference game of the year ( stop )

I had tabbed Rice ( pre-season ) to nail 5th in the WAC & seen the Tech`ies as a number 7 , given that I did not see two teams who have tons of potential being that far from one of those " Oh Shit " I should have known type games and felt that La. Tech who ripped off a seven game winning streak ( in the heart of conference play ) last season then recruited the coup of the year by landing a top 50 high schooler ( Paul Millsap 6` 8`` / 220 ) and landed a league MVP from Juco ranks ( Fred Marshall ) toss in a few solid preformers and being at home (stop)

          I guess I blew it this time ( stay-tuned ) because it will happen again when my gut feeling is " this is the time " and I was very aware of how good Rice is , I bet her against U. Conn the last game and won as eluded to by you ( posted here ) so let me put it this way { I will on occasion take a chance , and the thrill I get when I have predicited the outcome supercedes the final score }

          Now to home-court advantage :

That is a tough one because in some places I access a 6 pointer to the plus ( as a homey ) and the reason why is take " The Pit " in Albuquerque N.M. ( WELL KNOWN AS A DEATH TRAP ) and then take and throw in " Hawaii " , well known for places a 20 year-old boy is really going to concentrate on basketball ? { point in case , I agree with what was said last nite by members of this forum pointing to the U. Nevada ( Reno ) @ Hawaii game and had I choosen this one instead of the aforementioned one I would reflect pure genius ( but I didnt ) } and guess what " Once again the better team did not win "

But the common standard industry goes by is between 3 to 4.60 depending on who you talk to for a home add. , after that you get into a quandy of different opinions ( as with me )

Now I must ask you a question and pray you in return grant me a reply :

You mentioned having not been long in the fold , and time cures that ( along with a few brains ) and I have to assume you are looking for a profitable experience , now given that ?

Why in the world would you want to be infected by what ails most here , meaning if you really want to make some money at this get into something that actually makes some money and learn it well , then instead of being a wisher ( like me ) you can be a normal Joe and give your money to someone ( other than me ) and feel happy about it . Because your doomed to learn the feeling !!!!

Love your earnest inquiry and looking forward to more ?

          G.L.

                Your humor cuts to the horn ( opp`s ) or shall I say the quick way you see things . My little brother has been a deputy sheriff for a long time and he once told me ;

" If you cant muggem , printem & and if you cant printem , muggem !

Hes such a ass , but I love him ( he`s wager free ) and asks me for money far more than I do him , but thats life I guess  cause I know one thing at this point :

                    To Memphis Mafia

Thank you for your very thorough reply. I can see buy your reply
you have a a very in-depth knowledge of college basketball.
I think college sports are a little easier to bet on than pro sports.
I see you do some Pro basketball so what is your opinion about
                    that.
I made mistakes in my betting in football such as I made some
large bets and lost so even though I won more bets than I lost
I still lost money but that was my fault. I know not to do that
                    anymore.
I can put a lot of time into this so I can do a lot of reading and
going over the stats to be able to come to some conclusion
as to which team may play better against another team. One
thing I like to read in my reading about football is statements
players and coaches make such as if they make optimstic or
pessimistic statments such as they may say the other team
is much better than their record and this will be a much harder
game to win than you may think ect. Or they may say we don't
think their defense will be no problem for our offense or we
have had no problem with them before ect. I know there are
many factors such as rivalries ect. but you have to be able to
read teams and this takes a lot of time and is not easy.
One thing about basketball that is worse than football is there
are many more teams and they play many more games and so
it will be much harder to keep track of. One thing that blows my
mind about handicappers is they give out so many picks and
I know they cannot really be handicapping that many games
as they are just giving out teams at random and not putting
any time into it at all. I am sure they give out what they think
they favorite of the people is. I can only do 3 or 4 games a
week to do them right so anymore than that is just to much.
The biggest problem I see with people who bet is they just
bet on to many games and there is no reason to do that as
there are not that many good games to bet on.
Some things I would like to point out about basketball that
is easier than football is that there are only 5 players and
they play both offensive and defense so there are less players
to have to know about. I know it also matters how good the
5 players on the bench are but that is still less than football.
Also it is played indoors and the court is the same everywhere
but in football it is not as there is a big difference in grass and
turf. Also in basketball there is not as many injuries but I know
there are some. Finally the biggest difference is the ball as it
is round is bounces the same for everyone but in football it
can and does take some weird bounces. I did read a article
about betting on sports a long time ago and it brought up this
fact and said that teams with good records in basketball were
more likely not to be a fluke as the ball bounces true for every
                    one the same.
Well with that said I will take it slow and easy and see what
happens. Again thank you and may you have the best of luck
                    and sucess.

                      MMM

I've been reading and following your posts for several months now and find your sense of humor intiguing...also the number and depth of your posts. If I could be nosey, is this your main "job"? It's hard to imagine being able to cap as many games as you do. Anyway, just wanted to let you know you seem to be quite an interesting character. GL on all your plays.

Why thank you for your noticing the effort required in doing this day in day out ( and all for free , aint it kool ) . Its just one of many things that make this site what it is :

                        " The * Best * out there "

Now to answer your other questions , I am getting up in the years and love being a tom-boy because I have been surrounded by gambling all my life . I am fairly self-suffecient and do run 4 ventures at the moment that all show a small profit except for my love of life " Greyhounds " , which manages to supply me enough play money to take the chances that I do .

And my late husband was quite a capper his self and just by paying attetion to his methods and style I captured alot from him thru the years . We got our start in life in the late fifty`s from the man " Elvis " ( my husband was a drummer for him ) and he was kind enough to spot us a bit of cash to start our bizz and what I trained for at the U. of Florida ( animal husbandry ) and I guess the rest is history .

I have two wonderful children , who have had many more themselfs ( and need to slow-down ) and I am constanly pushed by my loved ones to slow down and relax and my reply is " Why so you can size me up for a box ? "

                        X X

I hope this gives you enough to make some estimations cause you can always get under my skin , but never my skirt
