    Guys,

I'm having problems with my ISP today. So far, I haven't been able to gather and prepare anything.

It seems okay now but it may be touch and go for a while.

    Good luck today, guys!

      Armadillo: Wednesday's six-pack

Odds for this weekend's PLAYERS Championship in soggy Florida.....

5-1-- Eldrick Woods-- When time comes, will Eldrick play on Senior Tour?

12-1-- Adam Scott-- Masters champ is probably still on Cloud Nine

12-1-- Luke Donald-- Best professional athlete ever from Northwestern?

12-1-- Phil Mickelson-- Fell apart with lead Sunday at Quail Hollow.

12-1-- Rory McIlroy-- Need to find out how much Nike is paying him.

15-1-- Matt Kuchar-- Guy that won last week's tournament was ranked #1,207 in the world; how many people actually get ranked?

      *****

Armadillo: Wednesday's List of 13: Doing some thinking out loud........

      13) February 1, 2008, Marc Gasol was traded by the Lakers with Kwame Brown, Jarvaris Crittendon (indicted on nurder charges last month), a 2008 1st round pick (Donte Greene) and a 2010 1st round pick (Greivis Vasquez) to Memphis for Pau Gasol and a 2010 2nd round pick (Devin Ebanks).

No one thought that the Grizzlies got the better of this trade, but they did; they traded Vasquez for Quincy Pondexter, and the younger Gasol might be the best center in the NBA. Who knew?

      12) You don't see many 30-2 runs in NBA games, especially ones that start late in the third quarter with the team that is losing going on the run, but the Knicks did that and evened their series by crushing the Pacers 105-79. It was so one-sided Carmelo Anthony even had three assists.

      11) Phil Jackson said he had no interest in the Nets' job. No, really? He's not coaching again unless the Heat come calling, and that ain't happening. He is 67, and isn't going to coach a team that is struggling to win a title.

      10) Phoenix Suns hired 33-year old Ryan McDonough as their GM; he is the son of the late sportswriter Will McDonough, and the brother of ESPN voice Sean McDonough. Not entirely sure the Suns' owner knows what he is doing. They've gone in the dumper since they canned Mike D'Antoni.

      9) UNLV star Michael Bennett has to have shoulder surgery before the draft; if his stock were to slip out of the first half of the first round, then he made a big mistake not going back to school for his sophomore year.

      8) The Angels are 11-21, 2-8 in their last ten games- they've got a huge payroll, and you wonder how long before they change managers. Losing to the Astros in Houston ain't good for your job security.

      7) Going to be a long summer in Vancouver, after the Canucks got swept by the San Jose Sharks, going 0-7 this season vs San Jose. Not often a team has home ice advantage and loses a series 4-0.

      6) KL Wheat was at the Penguin-Islander game on Long Island Tuesday night and reports it was the most fun he's ever had at a hockey game. Series is tied 2-2 heading back to Pittsburgh.

      5) ESPN shouldn't be showing a kid dunking in an AAU tournament, and then mocking the kid he dunked on; whatever nitwit aired this should pretend it was their son getting dunked on, and see if they would think it was funny then. These are high school kids; find your highlights somewhere else.

      4) Matt Harvey's first seven starts for the Mets: 4-0, 1.28, with 22 hits allowed in 49.1 IP. He's going to be in the All-Star Game at CitiField.

      3) After three nights of the second round of NBA playoffs, underdogs are 5-1 against the spread, with dogs 3-3 SU.

      2) Golden State has now lost its last 30 games in San Antonio; 30!!!! In order to win this playoff series, Warriors have to go 3-0 at home, and win one game in the Alamo. When you're up 18 with under 5:00 to go and lose, it gets really, really difficult to win a short series. Damn near impossible.

      1) When you come to Las Vegas, I strongly advise you to eat at Battista's, which is across Flamingo from Bally's, behind where Bill's Gambling Hall used to be. Old-fashioned Italian restaurant. Excellent.

        NBA
        Armadillo's Write-Up

        Wednesday, May 8

Lay 12 points to the gritty, banged-up Bulls at your own risk after this well-coached team won consecutive road games as Brooklyn/Miami in a 48-hour span. Butler played all 48:00 Monday; he is averaging over 39 minutes a game in playoffs, after averaging 26.3 in regular season. Bulls are now 3-2 vs Miami this season, going 2-1 here. Heat shot 50.7/51.4% in two games they won, 46.2/48.1/39.7% in three losses. Miami won 12 of its last 13 games overall; they're 5-4 vs spread last nine games they were home favorite. Over is 9-5 in Chicago's last fourteen games.

Steph Curry played all 58:00 in draining loss Monday loss, has to be a tough thing to bounce back 48 hours later; Warriors have now lost 30 in a row in San Antonio, losing by 7-11-2 in this year's visits. Warriors are now 10-0 vs spread in last ten games overall; over is 4-3 in their playoff games. Spurs are now 5-0 in playoffs, with four wins by double digits; Duncan was ill Monday night and missed most of second half, so he is not full strength here. Home team won all five series meetings this year. Klay Thompson was +14 Monday night but fouled out and that hurt.

Wednesday's NBA playoff action: What bettors need to know
        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat (-12, 187)

        Chicago leads series 1-0.

The Chicago Bulls notched a stunning victory in the opener and the Miami Heat seek to bounce back and even the Eastern Conference semifinal series when the teams meet in Wednesday’s Game 2 in South Beach. Chicago scored the final 10 points to close out a 93-86 victory in Game 1 despite again being without starters Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich. Miami was certainly rusty due to a long layoff from sweeping Milwaukee in the first round.

The Heat were out-of-synch much of the game and their defense was horrid in the final quarter when the Bulls scored 35 points. The loss was just the third in the last 44 games for Miami. “We haven’t lost in a while, so it was very different to come in and deal with a loss and to deal with it in the playoffs at home,” guard Dwyane Wade said on Tuesday. “It was different from the standpoint of what we’ve been used to lately, but not anything different from what we’ve been used to as a team.” Chicago will likely be without Deng (illness) for the fourth straight game, and Hinrich (calf) is in jeopardy of missing his fifth in a row. The Bulls now go for an unlikely 2-0 lead. “We’ve been getting some big victories the last couple games, but we’re not satisfied,” Chicago center Joakim Noah said. “We’re going to stay hungry, make our adjustments and try to play even better.”

        TV:
        7 p.m. ET, TNT

        ABOUT THE BULLS:
Noah had 13 points and 11 rebounds in the opener for his third straight double-double and fourth in five games. He was plagued by a foot injury late in the regular season and for most of the first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets but has appeared very spry over the last few games. His stellar Game 1 effort helped Chicago post a 46-32 advantage on the boards. “The team that wins the rebounding battle has a big advantage,” Noah said. “If you look at the numbers the last 10 to 15 times we’ve played the Heat, the team that wins the rebounding battle usually comes out with a ‘W.’” Small forward Jimmy Butler had 21 points and 14 rebounds while playing all 48 minutes for the third straight game.

        ABOUT THE HEAT:
MVP LeBron James with 24 points and Wade (14) were the only Miami players to reach double digits in the opener. James had just two first-half points before exploding for 22 in the second while Wade wasn’t at his best as he continues to deal with a bruised right knee. Center Chris Bosh had just nine points and hasn’t scored more than 16 in the postseason. Miami shot just 39.7 percent from the field and doesn’t expect a second straight subpar shooting performance. “It’s about will and determination to win the series, for both teams,” James said. “We want our shooters to shoot and they will continue to shoot because we will continue to find them. We’ve got the utmost confidence in them.”

        TRENDS:

        * Under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Miami.
        * Under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.
        * Heat are 9-15 ATS as double-digit favorites this season.
        * Heat are 6-0 ATS in their last six games following a loss.

        BUZZER BEATERS:

        1. Chicago PG Nate Robinson had 27 points and nine assists and hit the go-ahead jumper with 1:18 left in Game 1.

        2. F Udonis Haslem (four points, three rebounds in 18 minutes) and G Mario Chalmers (five points on 1-of-5 shooting) had poor Game 1 showings for Miami.

        3. The Bulls haven’t won three straight road games since mid-January. Chicago won the first-round finale in Brooklyn before winning Game 1 in Miami.

Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs (-7.5, 204.5)

        San Antonio leads series 1-0.

The Golden State Warriors have developed a disturbing habit of letting big leads slip away in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. The San Antonio Spurs will try to avoid that big fourth-quarter hole and grab a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinals when they host the Warriors on Wednesday. Golden State led by 16 points with under four minutes left in Game 1 only to have the Spurs storm back and eventually win in double overtime.

Manu Ginobili played both the hero and the goat in Game 1 after his ill-advised 3-pointer late in the second overtime led to a layup before Golden State took the lead with 3.9 seconds left. Ginobili made up for that gaffe by draining the game-winning 3-pointer two possessions later. Warriors star Stephen Curry piled up 44 points and 11 assists but fell off in the final minutes and overtime while playing all but four seconds of the 58-minute contest. Golden State has lost 30 games in a row in San Antonio and had everything lining up when Tim Duncan went to the bench with an illness late in the fourth quarter before the Spurs came alive.

        TV:
        9:30 p.m. ET, TNT

        ABOUT THE WARRIORS:
Curry scored 22 points in the third quarter and Golden State led by as many as 18 points late in that period. Curry brought out his entire bag of tricks in Game 1 with 3-pointers, floaters in the lane, slashes to the basket and no-look passes with both hands. In the end its was not enough, as the Spurs changed the defensive assignment on Curry to Kawhi Leonard, and even had wide-bodied center Boris Diaw blocking his drives in overtime. The key to the game might have been Klay Thompson, who scored 19 points and played tough defense on San Antonio point guard Tony Parker before fouling out as the Spurs began their late run in the fourth. The Warriors nearly squandered a big lead in the fourth quarter of Game 6 against the Denver Nuggets in the first round before pulling it out. A slew of turnovers and a general lack of offensive execution was the problem both times. “You’ve got to address it,” Curry said. “That should be a guaranteed win if you take care of what you need to take care of. At some point it’s something we’re doing wrong that allows them that momentum and the opportunity to make it a game.”

        ABOUT THE SPURS:
Ginobili struggled to 5-of-20 from the field in Game 1 but came through when it mattered with a 3-pointer from the right wing off an inbounds pass with 1.2 seconds left. Parker started the rally in the fourth quarter with six straight points as San Antonio closed the frame with an 18-2 burst. Duncan heading to the bench late in the fourth forced the Spurs to go to a smaller lineup with Diaw in the middle, and the big man knocked down a couple of key shots from the perimeter in the final minutes. Duncan collected 19 points and 11 boards but went to the locker room when the Spurs were down big. He returned to the bench for overtime but only entered the game for defensive purposes in the final seconds of each overtime. “From the fourth quarter on we looked like a team that realized we were in the playoffs and it was going to be physical,” San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich told reporters. “We looked like we were looking for answers, I thought. In the end we finally woke up.”

        TRENDS:

        * Warriors are 4-1-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.
        * Favorite is 18-6-2 ATS in the last 26 meetings.
        * Warriors are 5-14 ATS in the last 19 meetings in San Antonio.
        * Spurs are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games.

        BUZZER BEATERS:

        1. Dominique Wilkins led the Spurs with 22 points off the bench the last time San Antonio lost at home to the Warriors, Feb. 14, 1997.

        2. The three previous teams to blow a 16-point fourth-quarter lead in a playoff game over the last 15 seasons all went on to win the next game.

        3. Golden State struggled to 14-for-24 from the free-throw line in Game 1.

Playoff payoff: Warriors perfect 7-0 ATS heading into Game 2
        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s been nearly a month since the Golden State Warriors failed to cover the spread, a span of 10 games that stretches over the final three contests of the regular season and into Wednesday’s Game 2 showdown with the San Antonio Spurs.

The Warriors are a perfect 7-0 ATS in the postseason, coming away a pointspread winner in all six first-round matchups with the Denver Nuggets and nearly shocking the Spurs in Game 1, losing 129-127 in double overtime as 9-point road underdogs Monday. Oddsmakers have Golden State set as a 7.5-point road underdog for Game 2.

This profitable run is impressive, especially for the Western Conference’s No. 6 seed and a team that finished the season with a 42-39-1 ATS mark - covering in just under 52 percent of its games.

The last time bettors saw a playoff team start this strong ATS, the 2008-09 Denver Nuggets opened the postseason with 12 straight ATS wins before going 1-3 ATS in their final four games and getting eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference finals.

The 2000-01 Lakers, led by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, were a dominant bet going 12-3 ATS (14-1 SU) en route to their second of three straight NBA titles in the early 2000s. The 1994-95 Houston Rockets also posted a 12-3 ATS postseason mark (11-4 SU), knocking off O’Neal and the Orlando Magic in the finals.

The 2010-11 Dallas Mavericks finished with a 15-4-2 ATS count (16-5 SU) when they shocked the Miami Heat to win the NBA Championship, including a 3-2-1 ATS record in the finals.

The Chicago Bulls went 13-4 ATS (15-2 SU) in the 1990-91 postseason and knocked off Magic Johnson and the Lakers for the first of Michael Jordan’s six NBA Championships.

The most ATS wins in a single playoff run belong to the 2003-04 Detroit Pistons, who finished 16-6-1 ATS (16-7 SU) and beat Los Angeles in six games in the finals, going 4-0-1 ATS in that series.

Golden State’s second-round opponents, the Spurs, are no strangers to profitable postseason runs. San Antonio went 12-5 ATS in 1998-99, 12-8 ATS in 2002-03, 15-8 ATS in 2004-05, and 14-5-1 ATS in 2006-2007. The Spurs are 4-1 ATS this postseason after Game 1.

Wednesday's NHL playoff action: What bettors need to know
          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs (+126, 5)

          Boston leads series 2-1.

The Boston Bruins ruined the celebration in Toronto on Monday for the city’s first home playoff game since 2004, taking a 2-1 lead on the fifth-seeded Maple Leafs in their Eastern Conference first-round series. The Bruins can push Toronto to the brink of elimination with a road victory in Game 4 on Wednesday. Boston won 5-2 in Game 3 despite being outshot 47-38 by an eager but sloppy Maple Leafs team filled with home-ice adrenaline. The Bruins scored twice off 24 Toronto turnovers and re-established the dominant position they assumed after their 4-1 victory in Game 1.

Boston netminder Tuukka Rask played his best game of the series on Monday, stopping 45 shots after allowing five goals on 52 shots over the first two contests. Toronto center Tyler Bozak and coach Randy Carlyle were vocal about unfair faceoffs after Bozak was kicked out of numerous important draws in Game 3. Bruins coach Claude Julien dismissed Carlyle’s remarks as lobbying the officials. “It’s going to be interesting to see whether the referees and the linesmen just do their job next game and not worry about who’s crying wolf,” Julien told reporters on Tuesday. Even if the Maple Leafs gain an edge in faceoffs, they will need much more to regain the edge they had following their 4-1 win in Game 2, or Wednesday could be the last playoff game in Toronto for a while.

          TV:
7 p.m. ET, CBC, RDS, CNBC, NESN

          ABOUT THE BRUINS:
Nathan Horton had a goal and an assist on Monday to bring his total to three goals and four points in the first three games. Horton’s scoring line with David Krejci, who leads all players in the series with seven points, and Milan Lucic, who has six assists, is driving Boston’s offense after the trio combined for only 14 points throughout April. Horton is at the end of a six-year, $24-million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer, but he is not thinking about that. “The only thing worth thinking about right now is the playoffs and trying to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs,” Horton told ESPN on Tuesday. Jaromir Jagr picked up his first point of the series in Game 3 when he assisted on Rich Peverley’s goal in the second period. Jagr has 190 points in 183 career playoff contests.

          ABOUT THE MAPLE LEAFS:
Phil Kessel scored a power-play goal in the third period on Monday for his second tally in as many games. Historically, Kessel has struggled against his former team - his goal in Game 2 was his first at even-strength in 24 career contests against the Bruins - but he is getting ice-time away from Bruins captain Zdeno Chara and has 10 total shots to show for it, third on the team behind Joffrey Lupul (11) and James van Riemsdyk (14). Lupul and van Riemsdyk have also scored twice for Toronto, while the only other Maple Leafs player to record a playoff goal thus far is defenseman Jake Gardiner, who scored the first of his career on a power play in his second postseason contest. Although he cannot be blamed for either of the team’s two defeats this round, goaltender James Reimer has allowed four goals in three of his last four starts following a 34-save shutout against Florida in the penultimate game of the regular season.

          TRENDS:

          * Over is 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings in Toronto.
          * Bruins are 5-1 in the last six meetings in Toronto.
          * Over is 23-9-3 in the last 35 meetings.
          * Bruins are 35-17 in the last 52 meetings.

          OVERTIME:

          1. Boston C Tyler Seguin leads the series with 17 shots but has yet to record a point.

          2. Kessel has 12 goals and 20 points in his last 14 games, dating back to April 6.

          3. Toronto D Mike Kostka (broken finger) is out indefinitely.

Washington Capitals at New York Rangers (-133, 5)

          Washington leads series 2-1.

After mustering just one goal during a pair of games in the nation's capital, the New York Rangers enjoyed a relative scoring spree in their last outing. The sixth-seeded Rangers will look to continue their offensive surge and even their Eastern Conference first-round series with the Southeast Division champion Washington Capitals on Wednesday, when the teams reconvene for Game 4 at Madison Square Garden. Derek Stepan scored to snap a tie with 6:25 remaining in the third period and Derick Brassard collected a goal and two assists in New York's 4-3 win on Monday.

Stepan said the Rangers are focused on going hard to the net to challenge Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby. "Games 1 and 2, we thought sometimes we were good at it, and at times we did not do it nearly enough," Stepan said. "That is something as a team that we are trying to keep focus on, continuing to get pucks and bodies to the net." Defenseman Mike Green has scored in the last two contests for third-seeded Washington.

          TV:
7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN, RDS2, CSN (Washington), MSG (New York)

          ABOUT THE CAPITALS:
While New York elected to practice vigorously on Tuesday, Washington embraced a rare day off. "Rest is a weapon. That’s what all the veteran players always say," right wing Eric Fehr said with a smile. "We’re going to take it today, we’re going to watch the video and we’re going to learn from it and we’re going to be better the next game." The video will show six different trips to the penalty box for Washington, as well as a punchless power play which mustered just one shot in three opportunities with the man advantage.

          ABOUT THE RANGERS:
After defenseman Marc Staal returned in Game 3, New York may see another key cog crack the lineup for Game 4. Rugged Ryane Clowe, who practiced on Tuesday, has not played since April 25 due to an undisclosed injury that is suspected to be a concussion. "If there's an opportunity to play, I'll play. I'm not holding out here and trying to save it. There's nothing to save," Clowe said. "But I don't want to just play a period or a few shifts. If I play, I am in, all in." Clowe recorded three goals and eight points in 12 games after being acquired from San Jose.

          TRENDS:

          * Rangers are 7-0 in their last 7 home games.
          * Under is 4-1 in Capitals last 5 overall.
          * Home team is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.
          * Capitals are 9-3 in their last 12 games playing on 1 days rest.

          OVERTIME:

          1. Clowe may take the place of C Darroll Powe, who suffered an undisclosed injury in Game 3. Powe, who didn't practice on Tuesday, sat out the final two periods of Monday's tilt.

          2. Washington failed to score on the power play in Game 3 after tallying with the man advantage in each of the first two contests of the series.

          3. New York has won its last seven games at Madison Square Garden.

Los Angeles Kings at St. Louis Blues (-125, 4.5)

          Series tied 2-2.

The fifth-seeded Los Angeles Kings attempt to break serve Wednesday, when they visit the fourth-seeded St. Louis Blues for a pivotal Game 5 in their Western Conference first-round series. St. Louis entered with home-ice advantage and maintained it by posting a pair of 2-1 victories at Scottrade Center, including one in overtime. The reigning Stanley Cup champion Kings continued the trend with two one-goal triumphs at Staples Center.

Los Angeles, which totaled three goals over the first three games, finally broke out of its offensive funk in Game 4 with a 4-3 win. After falling behind by two goals less than five minutes into the contest, the Kings forged a tie before T.J. Oshie scored his second of the game early in the second period to give the Blues a 3-2 advantage. But Anze Kopitar ended his 19-game drought at 7:14 of the third and Justin Williams tallied 76 seconds later to turn it into a best-of-three series.

          TV:
9 p.m. ET, CNBC, CBC, RDS, FSN West (Los Angeles), FSN Midwest (St. Louis)

          ABOUT THE KINGS:
Wednesday would be a perfect time for Los Angeles to end its winless streak on the road. The Kings have not been victorious away from home since posting a 3-2 triumph over Dallas on March 31, going 0-4-2 over their last six regular-season road games before dropping the first two contests in St. Louis. Conversely, Los Angeles has won nine consecutive home games and had not allowed a first-period goal during that streak before yielding two on Monday. Left wing Kyle Clifford promised the Kings will be ready from the start in Game 5. "They're going to come out hard. We're going to come out even harder," he said.

          ABOUT THE BLUES:
Right wing Adam Cracknell was the odd man out Monday as coach Ken Hitchcock scratched the member of the popular "CPR Line" in favor of rookie Vladimir Tarasenko, who made his postseason debut. The 21-year-old Tarasenko saw only 5:51 of ice time and did not record a shot on goal. Hitchcock very simply summed up the third period of Game 4. "They took the game to another level and we didn't have an answer," he said. While the Kings have struggled mightily on the road, the Blues have been superb at home, winning their last eight contests at Scottrade Center. St. Louis has not lost in its own building since April 14 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

          TRENDS:

          * Kings are 0-8 in their last 8 road games.
          * Under is 19-4-3 in Blues last 26 overall.
          * Blues are 14-5 in their last 19 vs. Western Conference.
          * Home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.

          OVERTIME:

          1. The Blues and Kings combined for seven goals in Game 4 after totaling that same amount over the first three contests.

          2. Los Angeles had 11 different players record at least one point Monday.

          3. St. Louis G Brian Elliott had allowed just one goal in six straight starts prior to Game 4.

Detroit Red Wings at Anaheim Ducks (-140, 5)

          Series tied 2-2.

The Pacific Division champion Anaheim Ducks know they very well could be resting and preparing for a second-round series. Instead, they are gearing up for a pivotal Game 5 of their Western Conference first-round matchup against the seventh-seeded Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday at the Honda Center. Second-seeded Anaheim opened the series with a 3-1 home victory and cruised to a 4-0 triumph at Detroit in Game 3.

The Red Wings posted both of their two victories in overtime, pulling out a 5-4 win in Game 2 after squandering a three-goal lead in the third period and emerging with a 3-2 triumph on Monday after trailing by a tally midway through the third. Gustav Nyquist was the hero on Thursday, scoring a power-play goal just 81 seconds into overtime to even the series at one game apiece, and Damien Brunner tallied at 15:10 of the sudden-death period on Monday to again deadlock the matchup.

          TV:
10 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN, RDS, FSN, FSN Plus (Detroit), Prime Ticket (Anaheim)

          ABOUT THE RED WINGS:
Most believed Detroit stood no chance in the series considering the large number of players getting their first taste of the playoffs. But whether the Red Wings win or lose the matchup, those players are gaining valuable experience that should help the team down the road. Brunner is one of those postseason first-timers, while Nyquist saw action in four playoff games last year. "We're still a lot of young guys on this team," the 23-year-old Nyquist said. "A lot of us haven't played too much in the playoffs before. As every game goes by, it helps, for sure."

          ABOUT THE DUCKS:
Coach Bruce Boudreau was disappointed with his team as a whole on Monday. "I don't think, quite frankly, we had 20 players playing," he said. "We had some passengers." However, captain Ryan Getzlaf insisted Anaheim was upbeat following the Game 4 loss. "We're far from frustrated right now," he said. "One goal the other way and everyone is happy. It's the way it goes. It's playoff hockey and it's fun."

          TRENDS:

          * Red Wings are 6-2 in their last 8 overall.
          * Ducks are 1-4 in their last 5 home games.
          * Under is 6-1-1 in Red Wings last 8 road games.
          * Under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings in Anaheim.

          OVERTIME:

          1. Detroit LW Justin Abdelkader will serve the final contest of his two-game suspension for an illegal hit on Anaheim D Toni Lydman in Game 3. Lydman did not play in Monday's Game 4.

          2. The Red Wings have won three of their four games at the Honda Center in 2013.

          3. Ducks RWs Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan have combined to score one goal in the series thus far.

                    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three hot over pitchers on the bump Wednesday
                    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The over has been on fire in May and Wednesday features three solid candidates to top the total in their starts. Here's a look at three pitchers who take a combined 14-2 over/under record to the bump Wednesday.

                    Mike Leake, Cincinnati Reds (2-1, 4.15 ERA, 6-0 O/U)

The Reds righty is second in the majors with a 6-0 over/under record this season. By no means has Leake been awful. He brings a respectable 4.15 ERA into his start Wednesday and has two quality starts on the year. The over trend can be attributed to the Reds supplying him with an excellent six runs per start.

Leake will start against the Atlanta Braves Wednesday. He pitched eight solid innings and gave up just one earned run in his lone start versus Atlanta in 2012.

Jake Westbrook, St. Louis Cardinals, (2-1, 1.07 ERA, 4-1 O/U)

Westbrook has been downright amazing this season and brings sparkling 1.07 ERA into his start Wednesday. He is another pitcher who gets great run support during his starts. The Cards provide Westbrook with 4.40 runs per start. But it is the Cards' bullpen that has spoiled a lot of Westbrook's outings. The Cardinals bullpen is last in the majors with a 5.45 ERA.

Westbrook gets the ball against the Chicago Cubs Wednesday. In three starts versus the Cubs last season, he gave up five earned runs in 19 innings.

                    Pedro Hernandez, Minnesota Twins, (1-0, 3.92 ERA, 4-1 O/U)

Hernandez is coming off a rough outing versus the Cleveland Indians on May 3. He gave up five earned runs in 5 1-3 innings of work. The young right-hander has yet to post a quality start on the year and has yet to go deeper than five innings.

Hernandez is slated to take the mound versus the Boston Red Sox Wednesday. In his lone start in 2012, as a member of the Chicago White Sox, Hernandez gave up eight earned runs in four innings versus the Red Sox.

MLB Top 4: Biggest day/night differences in baseball
                      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With most teams having played roughly 30 games so far this season, we have a large enough sample size to start looking closer at split stats and how that info can help with our MLB bets.

Here's a look at four teams with a huge difference between their performance in day games and night games.

                      Successful day teams:

                      Kansas City Royals

                      10-5 day, 7-7 night

The Royals are a top team in the American League when it comes to playing day games. Kansas City's pitching staff has a 2.62 ERA in day games, good enough for second in the AL. Compare that with a 4.04 ERA in night games and the disparity is glaring.

Their batting average in day games is .279 against .256 at night. The light-hitting Royals have just 16 homers on the year and just six of those came with the sun shining.

The Royals' next early start will be versus the New York Yankees at home on May 12 with Ervin Santana slated to pitch against Hiroki Kuroda. The Yankees are currently 6-6 in day games.

                      Minnesota Twins

                      11-5 day, 3-10 night

The Minnesota Twins are the worst night team in the majors at 3-9 but are a respectable 10-6 in day games.

Pitching has let the Twins down when they play under lights. Their 5.24 ERA in night games is third worst in the AL. They have fanned just 60 batters in their 13 night games. That's 44 less than anybody else.

Day games are a different story. Their ERA is 2.98 under the sun and they have walked just 35 batters in 133 innings pitched.

The Twins' next day game will be versus the Baltimore Orioles at home on May 12. The O's currently boast an 8-5 day record.

                      Successful night teams:

                      Colorado Rockies

                      12-7 night, 7-6 day

The Rockies average roughly a full run more when they play under the lights. They have crossed the plate 107 times in 19 night games and they are third in the majors with a .284 batting average in night games.

Colorado opens a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs on May 13. All three games will be under the lights. The Cubbies are currently 7-8 in night games.

                      Texas Rangers

                      16-6 night, 4-7 day

There is no bigger disparity between night and day records then what the Texas Rangers have. The scorching heat in Arlington usually leads to a vastly superior night record for the Rangers.

The Rangers are batting .274 in night games compared to just .242 in their day games. Pitchers will also perform more comfortably in the evenings. The Rangers' ERA is 2.89 at night and almost a full run more at 3.87 during the day.

Texas is back in Arlington for a four-game series versus the Detroit Tigers on April 16.
