Blackhawks at Ducks: What bettors need to know
            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chicago Blackhawks at Anaheim Ducks (+101, 5.5)

The Western Conference's elite will meet at the Honda Center on Wednesday as the Anaheim Ducks host the Chicago Blackhawks. Anaheim has won a franchise-record 12 consecutive home games and secured at least one point in its last 11 contests overall (8-0-3). Chicago also knows a thing or two about streaks, having won a franchise-best 11 in a row during its NHL-record 24-game point run to start the season.

While the Blackhawks received mainstream publicity for their gaudy streak, they haven't lost sight of the Ducks. "As well as we've been playing, they've been right there kind of hiding in the shadows," Chicago superstar Patrick Kane said. "If we weren't having the year we're having, there would be a lot of focus and attention on them. They're a big, physical team."

            TV:
10 p.m. ET, NHL Network, CSN (Chicago), FSN West (Anaheim)

ABOUT THE BLACKHAWKS (24-2-3, 11-17 over/under): Kane collected a goal and two assists as Chicago posted its third straight win, a 5-2 triumph over Colorado on Monday. The electric star has recorded a trio of three-point performances during his four-game point streak. Captain Jonathan Toews has recorded back-to-back three-point efforts and joined Kane with an assist in the Blackhawks' 3-2 shootout loss to the Ducks at the United Center on Feb. 12.

            ABOUT THE DUCKS (21-3-4, 12-14 over/under):
Future Hall-of-Famer Teemu Selanne didn't mince words when asked about Wednesday's opponent. "All the focus has been on Chicago. Chicago, Chicago, Chicago. That's great. Nobody's looking at us, (and) that's a good thing," the veteran told the Los Angeles Times. Jonas Hiller has regained his form by posting a 7-0-2 mark in his last nine contests. The Swiss netminder is 7-4-2 lifetime versus the Blackhawks - although Viktor Fasth made 28 saves in the win last month.

            TRENDS:

            * Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Anaheim.
            * Under is 20-8 in the last 28 meetings.
            * Home team is 14-6 in the last 20 meetings.
            * Blackhawks are 6-20-2 in the last 28 meetings in Anaheim.

            OVERTIME:

            1. Anaheim's Corey Perry, who was presented with an eight-year, $69 million contract extension on Monday, will serve the final contest of his four-game suspension for his hit on Minnesota's Jason Zucker on Wednesday.

            2. Chicago's Marian Hossa is not expected to play after suffering an upper-body injury at the hands of Ryan O'Byrne and the Avalanche.

            3. The Ducks have some tilts on their immediate schedule. After Wednesday's contest, Anaheim will face Detroit for a pair of games before opening a home-and-home series with San Jose. A rematch with Chicago - this time at the United Center - will finish the challenging stretch.
