    St Louis Cardinals +125

Tough loss for the redbirds yesterday. That being said, Gio was exposed earlier in the series. The Cardinals have been in this situation frequently over the past year, while this is new territory for the Nats. Their last playoff game of this magnitude was...never. The Cardinals learned a lot from seeing Gio the first time around. They lost their patience at the plate yesterday, something they thrived on in the first 3 games of the series. I look for Wainy to throw like a veteran, with the experience he has proven when the playoffs are concerned. Furthermore, with the stage never being bigger for the Nats, I look for them to press, while I see the Cardinals exhibiting patience at the plate vs Gio. They have been in this situation countless times, and I see them coming out playing very loose. This is by far my largest play of the year, and although anything can happen in playoff baseball, I could NOT be more confident in the Cardinals taking this. The fact they are dogs is absolute icing on the cake. BOL to you all this postseason, fade or follow!

Bol but your logic escapes me. You talk like Gonzalez just got called up from the minors. He is 21-8 with a 2.89 ERA. He is 9-4 at home with a 2.38 ERA. And how was Gio exposed earlier in the series pray tell? He went 5 innings and only gave up 1 hit. Granted he walked 7 but the Cards still only put up 2 runs. Besides his start the other day wasn't the first go around he had with the Cards. He faced them in August against none other than Adam Wainwright. His final stats in that game was 9 innings, 5 hits, 0 runs allowed as the Nats beat Wainwright 10-0

Raven, thanks for sharing your opinion. Gio is a fantastic pitcher, IMO more effective than Strasburg. My logic is that this is undoubtedly the biggest game of his career, as well as the other 8 Nats taking the field. In my OPINION, that ball gets a little heavier for him today. I don't need to argue with you about the recent success of the Cardinals in the postseason. Yes he pitched well to avoid getting blown up in game one, but if you don't see him walking 7 over 5 innings as a telling sign, then I can't help you there. What happened in August I couldn't care less about. Again, these games mean a helluva lot more than they did 2 months ago, but thanks for the worthless stat. As I stated at the bottom of the post, best of luck fade or follow. I can't say I'm shocked to see you riding the Nats.

Thanks, R Cajun! What an incredible game. Gio easily out dueled Wainy, but you cannot under estimate these Cardiac Cardinals! BOL to everyone on Saturday.

Nice call. Thought that one was in the bag. Nats really gagged that one away.
