  • Can Touts SUE those who give out plays for FREE?

Can touts sue those who give out their plays for free? I know that they are all salesman, scumbags and liars BUT do they have the right to sue if they find individuals responsible for steering others on to WHERE to get their free plays whether its on message boards or recorded messages?

    No..

It's just the passing on of information.

    Is it insider trading? No

Is it a breach of contract? No

If I buy a music CD and let my friend listen to it, can the record industry sue me? No.

As an attorney, I can see no basis for a lawsuit.

      AGREED!

I'm writing a book and ONE of the chapters is gonna be "How to get Tout plays for FREE!"

I'm gonna talk about where to search on the net for them and which phone #'s to call and listen to them for free..

I don't want to get sued by a tout for that though.. Think I'll have any problems?

Maybe before you write a book about these sites you should get permission from the people who own these sites.

I'm NOT writing a book about these sites. I however want to include this topic in a chapter. The book is about Sports Gambling in general.

My mistake. I meant maybe you should get permission to name specific sites by name.

This is the biggest misconception out there.

Yes, there was a lawsuit over this. IT WAS THROWN OUT!!!!

The reason the judge gave was that you are not violating, say, a movie maker's rights by telling somebody how a movie ended when you saw it first. Same thing here. You are just telling somebody information. Don't ever believe that these touts can sue you, because they can't.
Please don't question my record or I will leave!!!!

As I have said before, sports gambling is illegal everywhere except in Nevada.
Therefore how can any offshoots off of an illegal activity (giving out plays for nothing) be illegal?;sports services themselves operate within a grey area of the law claiming the picks are for information also, whereas everyone knows that is bs.
Thus, to me anyone who gives out the information or in this case simply the names of teams to others without the permission of the one issuing out the pick in the first place(in this case the service) could not possibly be considered acting illegally.
A judge would laugh at a lawsuit re: the above and it is more likely that a case could be brought against the service for engaging in questionable activities.
What would really be funny would be if the "almighty" and "self righteous" judge was more interested in what the picks were and whether they won or not.

Are you referring to the Wayne Root one that was in Vegas not too long ago?
