Another case where the team with the worse record (Howard 9-20) has the momentum at the right time vs a team with a better record (NC A&T 12-19)
Howard (again) is the more tested team here based on their out of Conference schedule. With these smaller Conference's it isn't always about beating the big boys. It is more about playing them and showing up in 1 or 2 of those games to prove they can compete. Howard did that and NC A&T did not. NC A&T needed overtime just to beat Carver Bible College at Home. Not good.
Howard is (5-3) L8
NC A&T is (2-6) L8 ... and both of those wins came against Conference cellar dwellar SC State (0-16 Conf./5-25 Overall)
With Calhoun back in the fold, I expect UCONN to make a little bit of a run here. They will have the crowd on their side playing just outside of Connecticut and they simply have too much talent for DePaul to handle in this one. They have also Won 6 straight against DePaul by an average of 18 ppg.
They beat the Blue Demons by 20 and 26 last year and by 26 in their only meeting this season. I don't see why that would change today.
Let's face it, this is a Home game for St John's. Many of their Home games are played right here at MSG. The Panthers are only (3-8) on the Road and St John's is (11-7) at Home. This game should be a Pick'em at best in my opinion. Pittsburgh is only (1-6) in their last 7 and St John's is a little better at (3-4). Pittsburgh's lone Win came by 20 at Home vs St John's a week ago. I think that is just another reason to play the Home team here with the sour taste in their mouth looking for a little payback. Give me the points!
