  • Stock Picks #2

    Savage,

How have the stock picks been going?

Other than the trade with BNKUZ I havent done much..still waiting on my HLIT..it is about where I bought it, waiting for 8 on my sale.

I am quite quite pissed on my NGEN..I sold it cause it kept dropping, then they get some pub in the NY papers and the sucker is at a 52 week high, almost 7.50 today..really chaps me..

Also looking at CPTH..got some bad news from their auditors on an 8-K form..stock getting whacked to lows I havent seen, and usually this is a sign of worse things to come..already did a reverse split, not looking so hot. I think they have enough cash to last for a while and this will blow over in a few days. Unless she gets smashed, I might nibble at a 50% position today, see if I can get a 20-30% return on this one. But I will post my buy if I make it. Market closes early today, in about another hour..so if I buy it will be when everyone else is selling at the end...maybe even after hours..

Hope all the traders are well!

Wallstreet-of late my speculative stocks (under $2) are a wash-some up and some down.
I bought some plrs the other day and am up a few pennies-not looking to get rich with this one. I purchased it at $.64 and would like to see it go to between $.80 or wishfully $.90.
Will keep an eye on stock you mentioned and/or will mention any other stocks on my watch list.

      WALLSTREET

Be VERY AFRAID of CPTH...I've been a auditor (CPA) for 25 years and almost always the accounting firm files an 8-K with a going concern qualification in it, it isn't just a bad sign, its the first 'graph of an obit. It is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that this company will still exist (or at a minimum still be listed) a year from now. The reverse split was approved simply to avoid the company being delisted. As I'm sur eyou know, once the delisting occurs the shareholders lose all their liquidity. I promise I'm not trying to be a know it all or to preach to you, but there are very many more highly spec issues out there to gamble on. Lastly, I would submit that this company is too far gone to see any kind of a pop, even on a short-term basis, during the remainder of its lifetime. Excuse me if I'm sticking my nose where it doesn't belong....GL

        Biloxi,

Thanks for the info.. And actually I have an accounting degree myself! Always good to speak with a fellow accountant. I didnt go on and get my CPA, the pay accountants get and the time it takes to get decent pay made me look to the market for what I wanted to do.

And I fully understand about a going concern and what that means. After reading the 8-K I think the auditors were being overly cautious..they have to be since the fallout with Arthur Anderson and other auditors..these guys have enough cash to last for over a year, and to me this play is for a bounce..a bounce that could take 15 minutes..could take a week. I wouldnt suggest anyone investing in CPTH..they are in a form of death spiral...but you know..several companies that looked dead last year are seriously kicking butt this year.. biggest one that comes to mind is SONS..sucker traded below .25 last year..now at 8 bucks..

So to anyone reading my messages, these stock picks are for your crazy money account..only invest what you can lose..

Talk about losing.. BG keeps giving NW big plays.. 3rd and 19 and they let them convert..
