Bowling Green Vs Northwestern
Friday, December 26th
Pat Durr, Northwestern’s crack linebacker,
has been a source of inspiration
to the Wildcats for his entire career. To
get his teammates up for this game, he
reminded them of Bowling Green’s 43-42
win over Northwestern at Dyche Stadium
in the 2001 campaign. Apparently, it
worked. The Wildcats are practicing with
fury. The key to the game is
Northwestern’s running attack. The Wildcats
have to run the football and they
have to run it well in order to have a
chance against the explosive Falcons.
When Northwestern runs for 200 yards
or more, the Wildcats are 11-0 against
the spread. Northwestern hit the magic
number of 200 rushing yards six times
this season behind Jason Wright and
Noah Herron. Bowling Green has performed
admirably this season except for
the two games against Miami Ohio, and
they are a worthy opponent for teams
much better than the Wildcats. However,
the BeeGees are just 2-22 straight up
away from home against .500 or better
opponents, and they can’t possibly be
psyched up about this game after losing
the Mid American Conference title game
on their home field. In addition, Mid
American Conference teams are 6-1 both
straight up and against the number in all
bowl games since 1998. According to
our database, however, the Big Ten Conference
has dominated the Mid American
Conference, winning 100 of the last
115 games in straight up fashion. Brett
Basanez won’t present the same problems
for the Bowling Green defense that
Ben Roethlisberger did, but he will
present problems nonetheless. If Bowling
Green’s players do not have their
mind right for this game, Northwestern
can sneak the victory. Back the Wildcats!

BOWL ODDSMAKERS MISTAKE GAME OF THE YEAR Bowling Green-Northwestern
BATON ROUGE SERVICE
Their Oddsmakers Mistake College Bowl Game of the Year play is on Northwestern plus the points against Bowling Green.
The like the fact that the Wildcats played in a much tougher conference (Big 10) than the Falcons, and that Northwestern closed the season strong by winning four of its final six games.
They note the Wildcats were 5-1 ATS on the road this year, and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 outside of Evanston over the past two seasons combined.
They also point out the Big 10 was a strong 5-2 ATS in bowl play a year ago, and in a battle of two weak defensive teams, they feel the squad from the better conference (Northwestern) plus the points is the play.
ONE-AND-ONLY 25* COLLEGE GAME OF THE YEAR Va Tech - Cal
DAYTON SERVICE
Their One-and-Only 25* College Game of the Year is on California plus the points against Virginia Tech in the Insight.com bowl.
They feel Cal is the team playing with momentum having won four of its last five regular-season games both SU and ATS. On the other hand, Virginia Tech arrives in Phoenix having lost three of its last four on the field, with the lone win coming in overtime against an awful Temple team. And the Hokies' late-season slide cost them a date in a "big" bowl.
They note Va Tech is a one-dimensional offensive team because of its inconsistent play at quarterback all season. And they feel a Cal rushing defense that allowed 132 yards a game (3.6 ypc) will be up to the task of limiting Kevin Jones.
They add that Cal is 8-3-1 ATS on the road during head coach Jeff Tedford's reign, and 8-2-1 ATS in that stretch when getting points like tonight.
Their first 4* Bowl Lock of the Year is on Virginia minus the points against Pittsburgh in the Continental Tire Bowl. They also have a 2* play on the under. They like Virginia in this close contest 27-23.
They like the way the Cavs closed the season with back-to-back wins against Georgia Tech (29-17) and Virginia Tech (35-21). And they feel the Cavs can do some damage offensively in this contest, not only on the arm of quarterback Matt Schaub, but on the ground against a Pittsburgh rushing defense that allowed 184 yards a game, and 4.4 yards per carry to opposing backs.
Although Virginia is playing in this bowl for a second straight year (beating West Virginia last year 48-22), they feel this game means more for the Cavs than Pitt, which cost itself a chance to play in the Orange Bowl by losing to Miami of Florida in its season finale.

Their top-rated triple play totals are for California and Virginia Tech to stay under in the Insight.com Bowl with around 53 points being scored, and for Bowling Green-Northwestern to go over in the Motor City Bowl with around 64 points being scored.
The least you could do, if you are not going to post your request in the proper thread, is to put a ? in your subject line so that people aren't looking for information where there is none!!
