Ravens +7' over the Pats. and something on the ML. This line is out of whack solely based on the two team's performance last week when the Ravens looked mediocre against a very good Texans' team and the Pats blew out the Broncos. Had those 2 games not been played this line would have been 3 or 4. Even though everyone likes offense, last week showed that defenses still win championship, just ask the Packers and Saints.
The Pats looked invincible last week against a team that had no business being in the playoffs. I think Denver may have been the worse overall playoff team in the last 20 years. The Ravens on the other hand had a very average or below average game against Houston. However what nobody wants to admit is that the Texans have a hell of a team and was a very tough matchup for the Ravens. I really think that had Schaub not gotten hurt the Texans would be hosting the AFC Championship game this week.
There is an old saying horses for courses and I think the Pats are a better match up for the Ravens than the Texans. Brady is a great QB but over the last 5 years he has played Baltimore 4 times. While he is 3-1 the 3 wins have all been by 3or 4 points. Over this time he has thrown 6 TDs and 6 ints. The bottom line is there is no pressure at all on the Ravens. Nobody expects them to win as evidenced by the line. Ravens love when thet feel disrespected.Nobody picked them to win when they went to Pittsburgh in November and we saw how that worked out. New England went to Pitt around the same time and lost. Here is a team that went 12-4, 6-0 in the AFC north, 7-0 against playoff teams and they are 7 point dogs against a team who hasn't beaten anyone with a winning record this year. Houston did make the Ravens look ordinary last week but the Pats defense isn't in the same zip code as the Texans. I know Brady is on a mission to win his 4th Super Bowl ring but so is Ray lewis and Ed Reed. I think this is a field goal game and could go either way. If I am wrong and the Pats blow thenm out I will be the first to acknowledge it. Bol to all no matter who your on.
