The Lakers are on a 7 game against the spread losing streak, but they will finally get the cover here. LA has covered 4 out of the last 6 meetings with Houston and the Rockets are on a dismal 5-12 run against the spread. Food for thought--->i too love this pick but i am worse than homer in the nba and that is why i do not even try to post in this sport because a 3-34 record would not look too good

Ez, i am a DIE HARD rockets fan, and this is not the kind of game 'we' play well in........houston is 1-8 vs. the spread in road games vs. western conference teams with the only cover coming vs. the clippers before the clippers cute little run they made......houston cannot score right now, and has turned into one of those rare nba teams that is actually predictable, they are winning games they should and losing games they should.........

i see the lakers winning this by about 12 or more, i hope i did not just jinx you

Knowing the Lakers and how crooked they are, I wouldn't be surprised if they win big tomorrow,and then for next couple of games right after, that when world starts betting them, they go back to their old tricks and win and don't cover or cover only if the controlling money wants them to.
I know above is cynical, but I have seen too many suspicious things during the last few years in Laker games in many regular season games and playoffs especially near end when either pointspread or over/under is in doubt to think their games are on the up and up.
I am curious as to whether any of you agree or disagree with my assessment.

I totally agree with you on that. I have seen it myself. Thats why I like this one. Like you said they have the public's eye tomorrow. Look great on National TV beat the Rockets by around 20 and guess what. Joe public jumps on the wagon again and tank the next three or four games. That is normal Lakers.

You look at this line Lakers -7. I maybe wrong but, would have to think Joe Public will take the points with the Rockets

If on the other hand they don't win and/or cover tomorrow, and the public bets them, then they will probably cover in the next game or two if public goes against them. Again, as you say normal Lakers.

Great posts, Guys. Since I'm in the same boat with Homer and Shorty (4 for the season), I've not deveoted as much time or attention to the NBA. Your comments prompted me to do some extra research. YOU"RE RIGHT...the Lakers line pattern IS really goofy over the past season and a half. Deeper into this analysis, I detect that this looks like the time to be ON the Hollywod Hardwooders. Historically, they seem to play well and cover when a) playing supposedly stronger competition, or b) when on the national stage. They then seem to win but FTC against subsequent "weaker sisters". Today's game involves BOTH a) and b) above. Accordingly, I'm with you on LA today, and if they cover, I'll be fading them the next two times they're -8 or more. Could be coincidence, but the pattern does look pretty predictable. Thanks for the insight...GL and Merry Christmas. HAHAHA...still having flurries in Biloxi...where the sewer meets the sea.

Leave it to the Rockets to come up with one of their highest scoring first halfs of the season, and the Fakers had another uninspired effort.

I will be on the Nuggets big tomorrow. Houston can not put together back to back games like this, and that will be their third game in four nights also.
