Stanford -7 over USC (Bought 1/2 point). This is my only play this weekend. Absolutely love Stanford in this spot for a lot of reasons. Stanford is 9th nationally in total offense. Everyone knows about Andrew Luck so I am not wasting my time talking about him. What a lot of people don't realize is that Stanford is a lot more than just Andrew Luck. They are ranked 17th in rushing offense so USC can't just focus on shutting down Luck. If they do the running game will have a field day and vice versa. Stanford may be the best balanced offensive team in the country. However Stanford is not just all offense, they also have a hell of a defense ranking 18th nationally in total defense, 4th in sacks (25), 4th in scoring defense (allowing 12 points a game) and 3rd in rush defense allowing 75 yards a game. Last week they played Washington who was the 25 ranked team and dropped 65 points on them in a 65-21 blowout.
One last reason why I like Stanford, they are playing for a shot at a national title. Right now the winner of the Bama/LSU (1 and 2 in the BCS standings) game the following week is almost assured a spot in the National title game. Currently in the BCS standings Oklahoma State, Boise State and Clemson are ranked ahead of Stanford. They need a convincing win against USC and against Oregon to leap frog into a possible national title game.
BOL if you follow and BOL to all this weekend.
