15* Kansas City +4 (4:10 PM) (GOY)
The Chiefs have been playing some really good ball of late. It's hard to believe after their horrible start to the Season but a Win here puts them at .500 (3-3) and right back in the thick of things. They lost by a FG 3 weeks ago in San Diego and they have Won their last 2. Cassel has been hot in the last 2 games, throwing for 517 yards and rushing for 32. He has 5 TD's and Zero turnovers in those Wins. The defense has played well the last 3 weeks too. They held Rivers to 0 TD's and 2 Int's three weeks ago, Peterson to 83 total yards rushing and receiving and 0 TD's two weeks ago, and they held the Colts to 78 total yards rushing last week. If they can concentrate on slowing Mcfadden down and make Boller one dimensional, it could be a long day for the Oakland offense. I just can't see Boller (or a rusty Palmer) matching Cassel point for point in this one.
On the other side, you have a Raiders team that went from losing their QB for the season to signing Palmer all in the matter of 2 or 3 days. It has been an emotional roller coaster ride for this Raiders team for 2 weeks now if you include the passing of Al Davis. The QB position has been the focus all week and it has to be a distraction when you are not only trying to figure out who is going to play QB, but also if they are even ready and prepared to play.
Another thing i like about this game is that the Chiefs are well rested coming off a bye week and fairly healthy as well. The Raiders are a little banged up, emotionally drained, and staring at a bye week next week. You have to think they can't wait for the 2 week break after this game and i'm not convinced that they will be 100% focused on the Chiefs this week.
KC is (10-4) Ats in their L14 as a Road Dog
Oakland is (3-12) Ats in their L15 as a Home Favorite
KC is (7-1) Ats in their L8 trips to Oakland
Road Team is (19-6) Ats in the L25 meetings
Underdog is (8-0) Ats in the L8 meetings
Kansas City 27 Oakland 17
GOOD LUCK
