My take on tonight's Hawaii/SJSU Game

I follow the WAC fairly close. I do like Hawaii here. They have had 2 weeks to prepare for this game. There is no fatigue factor for Hawaii. The Hawaii QB, Moniz, will want to show off his skill on national TV. Dick Tomey is an assistant coach at Hawaii and he was the guy who coached and recruited most of these San Jose players. He'll know their tendencies.

San Jose has played their last two games on the road in the thin air of BYU and CSU. They have had only 6 days of rest compared to Hawaii getting 2 weeks. This is homecoming for SJSU and they'll have that motivation. I watched them play last year at home and they aren't very good, but they are scrappy and play hard til the end.

If it wasn't for Hawaii getting beat badly by a shitty UNLV team, this would be a huge bet for me. Hawaii just beat La Tech soundly on the road. I have no idea what happened with them against UNLV.

I do like when the line moved from -7.5 to 5. My uncle would always tell me, "that's called an overlay. You're getting a Vegas favorite at a reduced risk line." Play it...

They scare me man. I've watched two of their games from the field and they weren't very good. The QB, Carr, can throw the ball and they have quick receivers, but they are horrendous on defense. And Boise, who has a good defense, completely shut them down.

Utah St looks pretty tough to me and they always play Fresno tough. They have the added motivation that Fresno bolted the WAC and left teams like them behind. I'd tread lightly on that game. It's a no play for me....They can't stop anyone. Periiod. They barely beat North Dakota Fighting Sue's.

Kaz, I agree with every reason you gave. It was my team after 1st look. I just couldn't get the weaker schedule and UNLV team out of my head. Plus, San Jose has really competed this year in some games and impressed me a little. I teased it because i feel the over is "Safe" and i felt better with 13 points over 6. If i lose though, it will be for all the exact reasons you gave!

I teased Hawaii at +1 last night with San Diego St. I, like you Wayne, like to tease teams when I think it's to my advantage. I just can't bring myself to betting on SJSU. I've watched Hawaii play and they come at you fast and furiously and with a chip on their shoulder. If SJSU is fatigued, it'll be a blowout. I wouldn't be afraid of taking Hawaii in the 2nd half either. SJSU might come out inspired, but the 2 road games and 6 days rest definitely suit Hawaii in the 2nd half. And Hawaii isn't afraid of running it up if they get the chance. They never take the foot off the gas. Like I said, they always have a chip on their shoulders...
