Not to make excuses but I have been running into some bad luck (which always happens when you're in a rut).
Friday:
1* San Jose State +6
San Jose is playing its best football in years although it isn't fully reflected in the won-loss record yet. They played UCLA and BYU very tough and will be sky-high for their first home national TV game in ages. Hawaii isn't bad but did manage to lose by 20 to an awful UNLV team.
Saturday:
1* Oregon State -3
Oreg State is always lousy in September and starts to improve in October. That's par for the course again this year as they played Ariz State fairly tough on the road before beating Arizona last week.
1* Michigan State -2 1/2 (-120)
I though I had a win against Michigan last week when +7 Northwestern had a big lead at halftime. This isn't stopping me form going against them again. This is their second road game in a row after five straight home games. Michigan State is the second best team in the conference (behind Wisconsin) and has beaten in-state rival Michigan every year since Mike Hart of Michigan mocked MSU with his "little brother" crack. They'll win again this year.
NFL:
2* Bengals -7
