According to the Louisville Courier Journal...several top Louisville players are fighting the flu. It sounds like they will play, but their conditioning has to be damaged. Hope this helps!

Flu? Cards look to stomp out the Flu bug
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CardinalSports.com's Howie Lindsey talked with several players after practice today in Mobile about the flu and its effect on Louisville's preparation for Thursday night's GMAC Bowl which features Louisville against No. 14-ranked Mami (Ohio). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
The general consensus has been that, even though some have the flu or are just getting rid of it (including one heaving at the corner of the practice field today), the flu bug shouldn't effect Thursday night.
"I heard a couple of guys on defense had it, Abe Brown, Ronnie was starting to get a little bit sick, but a lot of people are trying to come in and get IVs, get medicine and hopefully get better. Hopefully, nobody else will catch it," quarterback Stefan LeFors said.
"I kind of caught it a little bit, but I kind of caught mine before we got here. I'm fine, I'm 100 percent," Russell said.
Broderick Clark saw some of the flu effects earlier in the day, but seemed unphased by the dreaded bug.
"I'm feeling good, but a couple of the guys on the team are going through it, got a little cough or something," receiver and kick return specialist Broderick Clark admitted. "But this is football; you've got to fight through it. You've got to play through it."
Beyond the flu, several Cardinals have used the time after the Cincinnati game to bring themselves back to 100 percent including running back Eric Shelton.
"Oh yeah, man. Eric is back healthy and he's ready to go," running back Lionel Gates proudly announced. "We're glad to get him back, and it is a great opportunity for the offense to have two or three different guys in the backfield with explosiveness, especially with Michael Bush. Hopefully we can put on an offensive show."
Other Cardinals weren't concerned about the flu nearly as much as other more pressing concerns, like getting stuck in a small hotel elevator with more than a ton of offensive linemen.
"We were stuck in the elevator for more than an hour. There were like 16 of us in there. It was right after practice, too, and nobody had been to their rooms yet. So that was even worse," senior Dan Koons said.
