Had a good day Saturday. Went (5-4) in CFB but had a big day in bases going (4-1). MLB, CFL and WNBA will be posted at my site shortly!
CFB
3* Marshall +24 (-120) (3:35 PM)
W.V. lost some big pieces to the puzzle with RB Devine, WR Sanders and coach Stewart all departed. New HC Holgorsen has had his own off field issues and he has said himself that his team and offense is a work in progress. On defense the Mountaineers were good last year but they only return 4 starters on that side of the ball. Marshall has played W.V. pretty well the last 3 years, not allowing more than 27 in any game and nearly pulling the upset last season in a heart breaking last minute loss. The Herd return 9 on defense and i feel pretty good about them holding down this offense once again. On offense the Herd are starting a freshman QB but he was a great one in the State of Florida and he set many QB records in High school. He is a very athletic QB that just may give the Mountaineers fits tonight. Just seems like too many points to me but being on the road with a freshman QB makes it only a 3* play here! West Virginia 27 Marshall 16
5* SMU +16 (7:35 PM)
Love this Mustangs team. They return basically everybody from last year. QB Kyle Padron is a record setter at SMU and he will continue to put up huge numbers in the June Jones offense again this season. He has his WR's back and the whole O-Line is back as well. He also has the only C-USA RB to rush for over 1,000 yards back in Zach Line as well. Points should not be a problem for this team. On defense they should be much improved as well. They return 8 starters and June Jones is really excited about what he thinks this defense will do. His front 7 is deep with All Conference talent on the ends and at LB. His secondary returns 3 of 4 starters and 2 of them are All Conference talent. The Aggies return a ton of guys on both sides as well but they did lose all world LB Von Miller and they are suffering with some key guys banged up at the starting WR and RB positions. Guys are expected to play but they are nursing hamstring injuries and we all know how well that mixes with the heat in week 1 of the season. I like A&M but a ton is expected from them this season and i'm not sure if they can live up to those expectations. The Aggies are leaving the BIG 12 and the Mustangs are begging to be let in. This will be a good game for SMU to prove they belong and i think they will! Texas A&M 35 SMU 33
5* "7 PT." Teaser = SMU (+23) - "OVER" (48.5) SMU/A&M -130
