Loyola Chicago vs. Bradley Game Notes: The Braves come into this game at 6-2 SU and a perfect 5-0 ATS for the season. Bradley returns four starters from last year and also brings in one of the most talented Juco players in the nation. They have a trio of fantastic guards, including the MVC’s leading scorer from last season, Phillip Gilbert. The 6’3 off guard is a frontrunner for MVC Player of the Year honors. With a sensational backcourt in place, the big question mark for the Braves coming in was their lack of size up front. Well, that question has been answered in a big way with the addition of Juco transfer Sommerville up front. We’ll go as far to say that is exactly why Bradley has been so good this year. Their 6’7, 230 pound JC transfer has earned the MVC Newcomer of the Week prize three out of three weeks to start the season! The Braves are fresh off a sensational second half comeback win vs. a very solid Butler team. Bradley actually trailed 31-20 at the break, but rallied back behind 17-points from Sommerville and won 59-55. The Braves recent win over Butler ended a three-game stretch vs. programs that made the postseason last year. Central Michigan and Butler played in the NCAA tournament, while DePaul was an NIT participant. Note also that Bradley has played eight total games already and five vs. lined opponents. In other words, they are an extremely seasoned bunch for it only being mid December. Loyola-Chicago comes in at 2-2 SU and 0-1 ATS. The Ramblers have played only four total games and only one vs. a lined opponent. They return just two starters from last year’s sub .500 team and Coach Farmer will need some time to get this year’s squad up to respectability. In fact, Loyola is fresh off a 2-point home loss to Oral Roberts! Note that this will be Loyola-Chicago’s third game in five nights and that the Ramblers are just 4-13 ATS their last seventeen off a home loss. Meanwhile, Bradley has had seven full days to rest and prepare for this meeting and will be playing at the raucous Carver Arena, where they are 2-0 both SU and ATS this season vs. lined opponents. The home team is a perfect 3-0 both SU and ATS the past three meetings in this series and Bradley’s high octane offense should make that a perfect 4-0 today.

5 Star Utah +8 over NEW JERSEY — The Nets have been very disappointing so far this season whereas the Jazz have surprised most handicappers. So, the question we have to ask is, "Does a play on the Utah Jazz still have line value?" Our answer is yes. The Jazz are a solid 4-0 ATS this season as a dog off a loss and the Nets are a "perfect" 0-4 ATS this season when they lost their previous game by double digits. In addition, the Nets are 0-7 ATS when they shot less than 40% from the field including 0-4 ATS this season and 0-3 ATS this season when their opponent is playing in at least their third straight road game. Also, The Jazz are 12-1 ATS after a game in which they committed at least 25 fouls and 7-0 ATS their last seven as an away dog. Finally, the Nets have revenge motivation as they lost to the Jazz 84-91 as a favorite in Utah on December 1st. However, the Nets have had two revenge situations so far this season in which they lost as a favorite in the previous match-up. They failed miserably in both. In the first such situation they lost 81-80 to Toronto laying 7' at home and in the second they lost 63-110 getting 1' in Memphis. For the Nets to win by more than eight points here would require both teams to have very different performance than they have had previously. A sure way to go broke betting basketball is to guess when teams are going to have a big turnaround in performance. The prudent way to bet is WITH the teams' current form. Here that is ON the Jazz. Grab all the points. FORECAST: Utah 84 NEW JERSEY 86

Atlanta has been very tough when seeking revenge going 8-0 ATS when facing a team that beat them in their previous same season match-up—covering by an average of 7.1 points per game. The Warriors have been generous about allowing revenge as they are 0-5 ATS when facing a team they beat in their previous same season match-up—failing to cover by an average of 6.8 points per game. In addition, the Warriors are 1-6-2 ATS since 20020223 on the road when both they and their opponent have no rest. The Hawks get their revenge.

Today, its back to the tough-to-handicap world of the NBA, where we've been having a great season.

They shot a Bostonian named John F Kennedy in Dallas, and Boston gets their revenge tonight! After this game, they'll be talking conspiracy at Dallas cocktail parties for months.

We're taking the Green Leprachauns of Boston to get us the pot o' gold.

These are not your father's Boston Celtics, but the Mavericks are hideous on the road. They have just one single spread cover all season on the road, and that didn't come until the Lakers tanked on December 12. Before that, Dallas lost 9 straight road games to the spread, and their record straight up is not much better on the road at 3-7.

To make matters worse for Dallas tonight, both Sean Bradley, and guard Michael Finley will be out. Boston scores an average of 96 points/game at home and allows an average of 95 points/game. Dallas on the road scores 93 points/game and allows 98. All other factors are about equal. So we have Boston getting points at home to a horrid road team with injuries and a record that is poorer than Boston in the important category of scroing. We'll find gold on the grassy knoll tonight with the Celtics.
