5* New Orleans at Denver UNDER—The Hornets are playing in their last game of a four game road trip and the second of back-to-back road games. The Nuggets have two days rest so the amateur handicapper might speculate that the Nuggets will push the pace in an effort to take advantage of the favorable scheduling situation. As the Mark Your Calendar on the opposite page reveals, the Nuggets have not adopted this strategy in the past as they are 1-19 O/U when facing a team that has no rest and is playing in at least their third straight road game. This is the first active date of this trend this season and we have to wonder whether the personnel changes that the Nuggets made during the off season will affect this team trend. However, we have more than just this trend. The Hornets are 0-5 OU their last five when playing the second of back-to-back road games with the last four going under the total by 26’, 13, 23’ and 27 points respectively. Also, the Nuggets are 0-4 OU when their next game is away vs the Supersonics—failing to cover by an average of 14.5 points per game. As long as we avoid the dreaded OT we should be OK here.
FORECAST: DENVER 86 New Orleans 84 UNDER
4* Houston at Minnesota OVER—The Rockets are off the Spurs and have the Cavaliers next. This scheduling situation indicates a play on the over as Houston is 12-1 OU when their next game is vs the Cavs and they are 11-1 OU when their previous game was against the Spurs. However the key here is that the Rockets have two days rest and the Timberwolves played yesterday. Houston, with their guard combination of Francis and Mobley, is a team that can take advantage of a favorable scheduling situation. The Rockets are 5-0 O/U on the road with rest vs an unrested team going over by an average of 20.5 ppg. Their last four in this situation went over by 31, 16’ 25 and 20 points respectively—all without the benefit of an overtime session. This is the only active date of this trend the entire 2003-04 NBA season. The Rockets themselves, are playing the first of back-to-back road games but they are 8-2 OU their last ten in this situation. Finally, the Timberwolves are 9-1 OU when they face the Mavericks next including 4-0 OU before hosting the Mavs with an average OU margin of 15.8 points per game. This full—court game should be an entertaining one for the fans. Take the OVER.
FORECAST: MINNESOTA 104 Houston 98 OVER

This is a premium member pick from Ben Burns.
NHL - 7:05 ET
N. J Devils vs. Philadelphia Flyers
UNDER flyers/devils
These teams combined for six goals last night. With both teams playing their 3rd game in 4 nights tonight, and with the venue shifting to Philadelphia where the last three meetings have produced only six goals combined, expect the tempo to slow and for this one to fall UNDER the number.Boom chaka laka boom

bringhomebacon, Houston +4 isn't from the Newsletter. It's their system POD. The play is based on the last game for Houston and Minn. The newsletter was printed last week.
There has been a few times that his late phone play was against the play from his newsletter. Obviously, many things can change. This edition newsletter has a 5* on the total for the Denver/NO game. However, his website he has a 4*. He doesn't have a 5*
