careful with this play. Just checked out the umpire assignments thanks to udog's thread and it looks like the umpire doug eddings has strong trends towards the nationals and the home team. Home team is 8-1 this year with him behind the plate.

Obviously i am still playing it with imo the better pitcher and the better team overall!

you know what bruce this is one of the best stats you can use in baseball.the homeplate umpire is one of the keys to betting properly.i have always said there were certain pitchers that would give tom glavine the corners and having glavine -170 is a great bet.then other times like bob davidson he had a very tight strikezone and no way would you lay glavine at -170 when he has to throw the ball down the middle.
