
1. Points per game= MD avg 77.8 which is 24th in the country while BC is averaging 73 which is 83rd.
2. Rebounds per game= MD is averaging 40.3 which ranks 9th in country, BC is averaging 32 which is 296th in country
3. Assists per game= MD is averaging 17.4 which again is 9th in country, BC is averaging 15.3 which is 41st.
4. Shooting %= MD is shooting 47.7% which is 20th in country while BC is 46.2% which is 65th
5. Scoring defense= MD is allowing 63.6 ppg which is 63rd in the country while BC is allowing 71 ppg which is tied for 247th
Here's the bottom line. If you look at a lot of bracket projections Maryland is on the outside looking in. BC beat MD at MD in early December. They can't lose a second game to BC and expect to get in. I heard Gary Williams on his radio show this week saying this game and the next game with Virginia Tech are must win games. Maryland is currently 5-4 in conference games with 7 left to play. I think they will need at least 9, maybe 10 conference wins to get in. They can't afford to lose to a very beatable BC team. I think Gary Williams will have them ready to play.
