I won easily yesterday with +14 Washington.
I normally excel with my top plays and my GOY record here at BC over the last seven years is sterling but I lost both my NFL and CFB GOYs this year (although the beat on the NFL game was brutal). That's a disclaimer on today's pick but it is my favorite game of the year in football so far (although the Lions Sunday is close).
The line on the ND game is the one when i bet, and posted it, ten days ago. I still love the game at the current number.
4* Bowl Game Of The Year Notre Dame +3 1/2 (-120)
1) Notre Dame has an outstanding defense and gave up only 22 points in its last three regular season games.
2) Brian Kelly is a great coach of quarterbacks and has had five weeks to work with Rees.
3) Miami's coaching situation is a disaster. The firing of Shannon (likely new defensive coordinator at Wisconsin) means most of the assistants are lame duck and job hunting, a terrible way to prepare for a bowl. Kelly, on the other hand, is one of the best in the business.
4) Miami's QB situation is also bad. Jacory Harris, one of the most over-hyped QBs in ages, is being re-installed as the starter even though he had an awful year (almost as many INTs as TDs).
5) Notre Dame ended on a strong note and is happy to be in a bowl while Miami was hoping to win the ACC and get a BCS berth and instead collapsed down the stretch.
6) Dogs continue to do well in the lesser bowls.
