Took the favorites tonight...3-team parlay on:
- Boston Celtics (-5)
- Orlando Magic (-7)
- San Antonio (-3.5)
Boston is upset by the loss on Christmas to Orlando. They led the entire game, then lost the lead in the final two minutes. This is arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference, and they are not going to mess around with the Pacers. They beat the Pacers a few weeks ago by 11 and the line was at (-8.5). Expect the Celtics to come out and execute their gameplan and outclass the Pacers.
Orlando Magic...the new trades seem to be paying dividends as the new additions are being productive and making Orlando an even tougher team to beat. We already know about Dwight Howard and what he does...alot of people were down on Hedo Turkoglu but since his return to Orlando, he has been playing well. Albeit, he did miss a breakaway jam, but he is productive and he has good chemistry with Howard and plays well in that system. I don't see a way the Cavaliers keep this game close? Howard will defend the paint and make the Cavs shoot jumper's and 3's all night. Do you really believe in Daniel Gibson and Mo Williams? Maybe. Varejao, Hickson, and Jamison? Nah....
The Spurs are arguably the best team in basketball. Their record speaks for itself. Whenever I think about the Spurs I think about a tough defensive minded team, that works through Tim Duncan in the post and plays a controlled half-court game. The 2010-2011 Spurs have reinvented themselves and have become a potent offensive team. They are a veteran team but are able to push the tempo and hit the 3-point shot. In their last game against the Wizards as (-13.5 favorites) the Spurs won 94-80. Betting against the Lakers is iffy, but this Laker team is in a slump! They were easily beaten by the Heat on Christmas, I do not see this team beating the Spurs tonight. The Spurs are the better team and will prove it with a win tonight.
