Seeing really strange line. Anybody else?

I have already posted at length about my play on the UNDER 137 in the No. Illini/Chi-Illinois game, and that total hasn't budged all day.

But while the game total is 137, I have found the First Half total listed at 62!!!

Now, I fully understand that the First Half total is never one half of the overall total, because they take in to account the fact that more scoring gets done in second halves of most games. Because of this, the Second Half Total will usually be 7-9 points higher than the First Half total.

For instance, the TOTAL for the Ga Southern/Cinci game is 142, and the First Half Total is 67. This means the Second Half Total is 75, an 8 point difference.

The Oakland/Tennessee total is 151, with the First Half 72. This means the Second Half total is 79, a 7 point difference.

But if the No Illini/Chicago game total is 137, and the First Half Total is 62, then the Second Half Total is slated at 75, a MASSIVE 13 point difference.

I don't think I have ever seen such a difference, and I am wondering if this is a marker that this total may come crashing down soon.

Anybody else seeing this? Anybody else find it strange?

I only get totals for TV games and the difference is always right around 10 for my lines so I cant look and see what mine are but the reasoning I would guess is Tennessee and Cincy are going to blow the other team out where there is not going to be free points from the line in the last minute or so.

What is your totals for a game that has a smaller line?

Yeah, I understand what you are saying, but DePaul/WiscMilwaukee has a one point spread, and the First Half Total is 67, Second Half total is 75, standard 8 point difference. I don't see a single other game in college hoops where the difference between 1H and 2H falls outside the 7-9 point range.

My Tennessee/Oakland game total is finally up and its 72/151 just like urs and no lie my totals every time r normally 9 to 11 point difference i dont remember ever seeing a 7 pt diff and also the other way never seen 13 either.

So for me I would play under for the 1st half and over in 2nd in the game u like.

But I am going to play over 1st half in Tenn/Oak and under 2nd half if the first half wins.

Truck i uesd to play a ton of 1h total plays but dont much anymore. Normal is take ten off total for game divide by 2 for ih total. When i see a game with a diff number it usually pts out that the one team scores a tremdous amount of more second half points. As in n ill has a up tempo style and probably and a big diff in scoring is second half due to a ton of free throws toward end of game.

I use to coach the silas kid here in austin a few years back before he left to go to colorado.

Yeah, poskid, pretty amazing. It actually closed at 62.5, so an UNDER bettor could have squeaked out a win. The 2H line is not 75, as presumed by original line, but instead just 72. Strange lines, holding my breath for the second half.

This total would have been a lot lower if Ill-Chic could have avoided the bonus at the 10 minute mark. Obviously, that comes with playing tenacious defense, just have to hope the free throws do not reign (rain) in 2H.
