Bengals -1 over Cleveland. Don't laugh. I have a number of reasons why this is my biggest play of the weekend.
Cincy has lost 10 in a row. The franchise record is 11 in a row. Nobody want to be associated with that kind of record. The fact is this is probably their only realistic chance of avoiding a 13 game losing streak to end the year for Cincy. They finish up against Chargers at home and Baltimore on the road. Both are fighting for playoff positioning so I don't see Cincy winning either of those games. Cleveland beat them earlier this year so their is motivation to get revenge on a division rival. Cleveland will be playing their 3rd road game in a row, coming off a loss to Buffalo. I think they will come into Cincy with their asses dragging.
Finally in capping this game I found out something about Carson Palmer, that he doesn't seem to put up 2 bad games in a row. It is usually Bad Carson followed by Good Carson. Here are his stats for other games this year.
Against Carolina he had 195 yards 1 TD and 2 Ints., the next week against Cleveland, the same Browns team he plays this week he throws for 391 yards, 2 TDs and 0 picks
Against Tampa he throws for 209 yards, 2 TDs and 3 Ints, against Atlanta the next week he throws for 412 yards, 3 TDs and 0 Ints.
Against Indy he throws for 156 yards 2 TDs and 1 Int, the next week against Pitt. he throws for 248 yards, 2 TDs and 1 Int.
Against the Jets he throws for a season low 135 yards, 1 TD and 2 picks, the next week against the Saints he throws for 249 yards, 1 TD and 0 Ints.
Which brings us to last week against Pitt. where he had his worse game of the year. He threw for 178 yards 1 TD and 3 Ints.2 of which were pick 6s. Cincy put up 7 points which was their lowest output of the year. I think Palmer erases all the deamons this week, has a huge game and ends the 10 game losing streak against a bad Cleveland team.
