Virginia Tech has 48 offensive TDs and has surrendered 27 defensive TDs in 12 games.
Florida State has 45 TDs and has given up 22.
Both of these numbers are impressive on offense, but both are even more impressive on defense.
This game will be played in Charlotte, where two warm weather teams cannot be thrilled at the prospect of 35 degrees, rain, sleet, and snow.
Both of these teams absolutely DEPEND on being balanced offenses, and both have approximately the same number of TDS on the ground and through the air. Tonight, passing will be very difficult, and both defenses should be able to stack the box. In addition, pass plays will be fewer, clocks will be running, and field goals may be very tough to come by.
I like the under 51 in this game even in balmy climates, but I think this neutral field is a negative for both offenses, and I don't think this score will ever approach this tall number.
