  • The Bum's Breeders Cup Saturday's Winners !

Well I hope we made money on Friday, Saturdays 1st BC race is the 4th. So here we go.

    Race 4

8 Banned and 12 Hubble and Hungry are my top 2 choices. Followed by
13 Pluck, note that Gomez got off 2 others here to ride this one (hot flash!!!! Gomez injured thurs in a breakdown at Churchill, condition unknown at this time) #7 Wilcox Inn nice 3rd at KE but Gomez off, but you get Johnny V. The bomb of bombs is the 10 Mad man Dairies, like Wesley Ward he's owner and trainer.

    Race 5

Wow this is tough. 12 Warriors reward may be favored. If your spreading in pick 3 or 4 I'm using 9 (Gomez again) 10 Riely Tucker. 3 Wise Dan. And a mecry play for Russell Baze riding his only breeders cup race the 5 Smiling Tiger.

    Race 6

Silver Timber has the track record at the distance and Leparroux, UnZip Me should be 2nd choice but who bets chalks..For the exotics throw in either 6Waveline, 10 Due date, and the 11 Grand Adventure as the bomber in the back of the number.

    Race 7

Everybodys raving either about Uncle Mo #7 or Boys at Tosconova #2. They will be the short prices. Only Suckers bet chalks!!!!!!!!!!
I like the 6 Stay Thirsty and the 9 Rouge Romance.....The bomber is the 5 Riviting reason.

    Race 8
Want to be a hero then try to beat Goldikova shes trying to win this race for the 3rd time in a row. All the pundants are saying she is better than last year, 15 carreer starts on the turf at a mile 13 wins 2, 2nds. But she drew the 10 hole outside. If your tryng to be a hero likely 2nd choices Gio Ponti or Paco Boy. It will be interesting to watch Sidneys Candy he will be on the lead and fast and will take em as far as he can, doubt he can stay the trip though. #2 could hit the board at a price or maybe the 11...Hard to beat Goldikova here......

    Race 9

The dirt mile. My best bet of the day #8 Crown of Thorns from hall of famer trainer Dick Mandella, then the 1 Dakota Phone, the 12 Vineyard Haven (could well win the race too), and the 5 Here comes Ben. If the lukewarm favorite"Morning Line" beats me oh well.

    Race 10

The Euro trainer of #6 Workforce the favorite and winner of the Biggest race in France is bitching about the turf course being to firm. This race always seems to go to the euros though, if this chalk the 6 dont go, then the 7 could be the winner. But Dick Mandella has Champ Pegasus #1, Mandella won 4 BC races a couple years ago, I was there at Santa Anita and watched it. He is my longshot play of the day.

    The Classic

How do you beat the Queen, I dont think you can. Proably wont bet the race, shit whom I kidding, Box or key Zenayatta w/ Bafferts 12 Lookin at lucky, the 6 Fly Down, and another bomb of bombs the 9 Wesley Wards Pleasent Prince.

    Good luck too all.

Zenyatta looks to extend perfection in the Breeders’ Cup Classic
By: Joe Freda | Friday, November 5, 2010

No. 8 Zenyatta has been installed as Saturday's 8/5 morning-line favorite with the betting odds, putting her 19-for-19 career streak on the line in what is expected to be her final race. The six-year-old mare won last year's Breeders' Cup Classic, closing from sixth place to defeat Gio Ponti by one length.

Zenyatta has not taken on male opponents since last year's triumph, with four of those five starts occurring on synthetic tracks. Trainer John Shirreffs has rarely ventured outside of California with Zenyatta, starting her only two times on dirt.

Zenyatta's jockey Mike Smith has no starts at Churchill Downs in the present meet but has enjoyed prior success in Louisville. The 45-year-old rode Giacomo to victory as a 50/1 long shot in the 2005 Kentucky Derby.

No. 5 Blame (9/2) and No. 1 Quality Road (5/1) are the duel's second and third betting choices, respectively. Blame is 3-for-4 at Churchill Downs, including a victory in June's Stephen Foster Handicap at 1 1/8 miles. Quality Road's last start was a 4 ¾-length win in September'sWoodward Stakes at Saratoga, making the four-year-old colt 8-for-12 lifetime.

Lookin At Lucky (6/1) will break from the No. 12 slot for trainer Bob Baffert. The 2010 Preakness Stakes and Haskell Invitational winner finished sixth in May's Kentucky Derby as the 6/1 betting favorite, but is 3-for-3 since then.

No. 3 Haynesfield (12/1) led gate-to-wire in last month's Jockey Club Gold Cup to win by four lengths with career-high speed. The four-year old colt's triumph was his only start at 1 ¼ miles for trainer Steven Asmussen, whose starters have gone 3-for-7 in the current Churchill Downs meet.

No. 2 Paddy O'Prado, No. 4 First Dude and No. 6 Fly Down are all 15/1 choices. Paddy O'Prado was edged out for a second-place check in Belmont Park's Joe Hirsch Turf Classic last month, ending a 3-for-3 streak. First Dude is winless in his last six starts, but has hit the board in 10-of-11 outings lifetime. Fly Down finished six lengths behind Haynesfield in the Jockey Club Gold Cup for a show spot, reaching career-high speed for a second straight race.

No. 7 Musket Man (20/1), No. 9 Pleasant Prince (30/1), No. 10 Etched (30/1) and No. 11 Espoir City (20/1) round out the field as long shots. Musket Man has hit the board in all 14 of his starts, with two coming at Churchill Downs. Pleasant Prince won last month's Oklahoma Derby by four lengths with career-high speed, going five wide in the stretch. Etched is 7-for-9 lifetime, defeating Musket Man by a neck in last month's Monmouth Cup at 1 1/8 miles. Espoir City invades from Japan, where the five-year-old won five of his last six starts.

Saturday's showdown has a scheduled post time of 3:45 p.m. (PT) and is Race 11 on Churchill Downs' slate. ESPN will have the national television coverage.

The weather forecast in Louisville presently calls for a 46-degree night with calm winds and no rain.

      Zenyatta leads Cup charge
      November 4, 2010
      By Mike Dempsey

Undefeated Zenyatta Headlines Breeders’ Cup Hopefuls

The undefeated Zenyatta will lead the parade to Churchill Downs on Nov. 5-6 for the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships.

However, she will not be alone.

A record of 184 horses were pre-entered for the 2010 Breeders’ Cup, which will be run for the 27th time this year under the Twin Spires at the historic Louisville track.

For the first time in the history of the Breeders’ Cup, the Ladies Classic on Friday and the Classic on Saturday will be run under the lights.

The buzz for this year’s Breeders’ Cup has been like no other, with Zenyatta looking to end her career on a high note by winning a Breeders’ Cup race for the third year in a row and ending her career unbeaten.

The brilliant mare won the Ladies Classic in 2008, and then beat the boys last year at Santa Anita.

With all the attention she has garnered throughout her career, complete with an appearance on “60 Minutes” on CBS this Sunday, the mare figures to go off at short odds in the Classic.

However, she will face a strong group trying to end her winning streak and put her bid for the Eclipse Award for Horse of the Year in peril.

A solid group of males will take her on, including Grade 1 winners Blame, Gio Ponti, Lookin At Lucky, Quality Road, Haynesfield, and Paddy O’Prado.

Multiple Group 1 winner Espoir City ships in from Japan to add some international flavor to this year’s Classic.

While winning her first two Breeders’ Cups over a synthetic surface, Zenyatta is faced with returning to conventional dirt this year.

She has raced on dirt just twice in her career, both of those wins coming in the Apple Blossom (G1) at Oaklawn Park.

History very well could be made several hours before Zenyatta hits the track, as Goldikova will be seeking to become the first horse to win the same Breeders’ Cup race three years in a row when she goes off as the short priced favorite in the Mile.

The brilliant mare is coming into the Mile this year in top form for trainer Freddy Head and will be ridden again by Olivier Pelsier, who rode the mare perfectly in her two trips over the turf at Santa Anita.

The highly regarded Workforce will be making his U.S. debut, attempting to become the first Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1) winner to return a month later to win the Turf.

The Juvenile usually points out the early favorite for the Kentucky Derby (G1), and this year’s race looks like a showdown between Boys At Tosconova and Uncle Mo, two very fast two-year-olds.

Boys At Tosconova is coming off a win in the Hopeful (G1) at Saratoga for trainer Rick Dutrow, who trained 2008 Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown.

Todd Pletcher will saddle Uncle Mo, who won the Champagne (G1) at Belmont Park in impressive fashion in his second career start.

There will be several other familiar races taking to the track next week. Midday (Filly and Mare Turf), Informed Decision (Filly and Mare Sprint), and California Flag (Turf Sprint) are back to defend their titles, while Forever Together will be trying to recapture the form that helped her capture the Filly & Mare Turf in 2008.
