  • Bowling no more takin' my Green

Your season is over now Bowling Green (thank goodness). Now there is no way that I can lose on you anymore!
But just for the heck of it (before I forget) I have some questions and comments about Thursday night's game against Miami (Ohio) directed to the Falcons of Bowling Green:
    1) I thought one golden rule of defensive backs was not to ever let wide receivers get past them........well??.........they must not have taught you that one.
    2) Do you have safties helping your corners or aren't they allowed downfield??
    3) You were not getting to the quarterback with the blitz so why didn't you do the obvious thing and drop more guys back into coverage instead??
    4) Did you ever consider bumping the wide receivers at the line??
    5) The quarterback on Miami is really good, isn't he??
    6) Josh Harris, are you a robot in disguise??
    7) Also for Josh: did you know that tonight was your last game at Bowling Green??
    8) Josh.......maybe you can play in the Canadian Football League, possibly wide receiver or cornerback........just not quarterback!
    8) Avoid turnovers at all costs!.........oh they must not have taught you that rule either.
    9) This game was for the M.A.C. championship, did you guys know that??
    10) Bowling Green: "You are over-rated!!........over-rated!!

P.S.> you have really nice home uniforms.

    Word to the wise >>>

When you see multiple posts from various forums making statements like "how is the line this high?"; "What can Vegas be thinking?" "This line makes no sense", etc etc either (a) play the fave or (b) pass the game. There is a reason Vegas can afford to tear down brand new hotels and build better ones in there place!
And in spite of the time of year, the oddsmakers are never in the mood to give out a gift!

Your points are certainly well taken.
Sometimes the odds seem to try and entice one to make a wager. Also I am amazed how a once in awhile a spread can be dead on.........but many more times it is way off!
Bottom line= the game still has to be played on the field.
All the rest of the stuff is only HYPE. It does not matter what a forum majority says or whether a spread looks good or not.
It does not matter if the so-called public likes one side of a game and the so-called sharps like the other side. It is all HYPE!
In the end it is what happens on the playing field that really matters.........and nobody actually knows how it will turn out.........if somebody knew then there would be no sportsbooks or sports bettors.
There are many good and bad reasons for making a wager.
That is what makes handicapping tough. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish between the good and bad reasons.
That is why I don't use the one to five star ratings that many bettors seem to. I am not smart enough to win more five star games than one star games. If I did it I would probably have a great record on my one stars and losing records on my two thru five. Then I would be in the hole even if my overall record was good!

One thing I always do is wager the same amount on each game because it is my opinion that on any given day or night.........NO ONE GAME IS EVER NECESSARILY STRONGER THAN THE OTHER!!

      Have a good one!

        One more thing

I did not realize it but Bowling Green was invited to a bowl game. Darn, I thought their season was over!

Anyway, I will not be playing (for or against) them in their bowl game.
They commit way too many turnovers; despite their poor defense against Miami (Ohio) they were really in the game until the three turnovers.
Also if it would have snowed I thought that could slow down the Miami offense. It certainly would have been more effective than Bowling Green was.

        Have a winning weekend, everyone!
