Ducks look to keep ATS streak alive at ASU

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      OREGON DUCKS (3-0)
at ARIZONA STATE SUN DEVILS (2-1)

Kickoff: Saturday, 10:30 p.m. EDT, Line: Oregon -11.5, Total: 57

Oregon brings its top-ranked scoring offense (63.0 PPG) and top-ranked scoring defense (4.3 PPG) to Tempe to clash with Arizona State. Ducks RB LaMichael James only needed two quarters to rush for a career-high 227 yards and two scores in Oregon’s 69-0 throttling of Portland State. The Sun Devils suffered a heart-breaking 20-19 loss at Wisconsin last week when an extra point was blocked with 4:09 left in the game.

On the heels of its school-record 528 rushing yards last week, Oregon ranks 2nd in the nation with 380.7 rushing YPG. James leads the nation with 12.0 yards per carry and also has three touchdowns. Sophomore QB Darron Thomas has filled in admirably for the departed Jeremiah Masoli, throwing eight touchdowns to just two interceptions this year.

Arizona State’s offense has also been rolling this year, scoring 38 PPG and ranking 12th in the nation with 305.3 passing YPG. QB Steven Threet has completed 66 percent of his passes and three players already have 13-plus receptions (Kerry Taylor: 13-180-1, Aaron Pflugrad: 15-165-0 and Mike Willie: 13-155-1).

Oregon has won the past five meetings (SU and ATS) by an average score of 42 to 19 and this FoxSheets trend shows why Oregon is likely to run both of those streaks to six.:

OREGON is 32-10 ATS (+21.0 Units) after allowing 3 points or less in the first half last game since 1992. The average score was OREGON 33.3, OPPONENT 19.0 - (Rating = 3*).

This FoxSheets trend favors the Under.

Play Under - Any team against the total (OREGON) - in a game involving 2 very good teams - outscoring opponents by 10+ PPG, after shutting out their last opponent. (28-7 over the last 5 seasons.) (80%, +20.3 units. Rating = 3*).
