CFB (Week 1)


CFB Plays will be Rated in a 2*-5* System. I will try to give a little insight with each pick but when I am pressed for time, I will have to skip the write-up. I will add games as I cap them throughout the weekend and spreads will be at time of posting and wagering. They are subject to change by the time you may see them. I will remove write-ups the day after games to shorten up the post!



Sunday

5* "7 PT." Teaser = Tulsa (Pk) - "OVER" (50) ---> -130 (2:05 PM)

ECU returns the fewest starters (8) in all of CFB. They also have a new HC after losing Skip Holtz to S Florida. Needless to say, they have a lot of work to do. They are applying new schemes on both sides of the ball so even the few returning starters they have are learning a new sytem. That could spell trouble vs a very good Tulsa offense lead by QB G.J. Kinne on offense. Look for him to feel more comfortable in his second year in what has been a very potent offense. Tulsa returns 9 on offense and rhythm should not be a problem for them today. On the other side of the ball Tulsa returns only 4 on defense. That should allow (BC Transfer) QB Dominique Davis to find some openings and create some points of their own. He is a very athletic QB that should be able to put a few points on the board himself to get this game over without much of a problem. Playing it as a Pk and 50 just feels safer than 7 and 57 so that is why i'm teasing it. ECU is the 2 time defending Champs and they are at home so i do not want to worry about laying points here. The road team has won 6 of the last 8 in this series too. Tulsa 38 East Carolina 27


5* "7 PT." Teaser = Texas Tech (-6.5) - "OVER" (52.5) ---> -130 (3:35 PM)

Tech returns a ton of talent on a very potent offense. Both QB's and 10 of their Top 11 WR's, along with their Top 2 RB's and most of the OL. Points should not be a problem for the new Tommy Tuberville led team. His focus will be on the defense. On the other side you have a SMU squad that was also potent on offense under June Jones. They did lose their Top WR to the draft and a top back as well. They also only return 2 on the O-Line. On defense SMU returns many but they lose 3 of 4 in their secondary. This is not a team you want to face when you are rebuilding a secondary because Tech will pick you apart. SMU should put points on the board with their run & shoot offense but it won't be enough to match Tech in this one. Texas Tech 41 SMU 28
