***WAKE FOREST 83 Indiana 60
Wake Forest has adapted well to the loss of star forward Josh Howard and are playing at a level higher than I anticipated. The Demon Deacons are 3-0 ATS and their lowest game rating is 3 points higher than the initial rating I gave them at the beginning of the season. Indiana, meanwhile, has played an average of 3 points lower than their initial rating and they aren’t likely to get any better with shot blocking center George Leach out with a sprained knee. My current ratings favor Wake Forest by 14 ½ points and that does not take into account the Hoosiers’ lower level of play on the road. Indiana lost by 13 points at Vanderbilt with Leach in the game and the Hoosiers are now 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games as a road underdog and that doesn’t bode well for them here against a Wake Forest team that qualifies in an incredible 55-13-2 ATS ACC home favorite situation that is an even better 37-3 ATS when applying before the conference season begins. I’m 3-0 using that angle this season (I passed on the one that lost) and I’ll go with Wake Forest in a 3-Star Best Bet tonight.
