Jason Marquis is the worst starting pitcher in MLB. He has a job only because of injuries and the Nationals general apathy toward 2nd half baseball. As pathetic as the Cubs have been, they still have some talent on offense, and Marquis, who has yet to recover from early season shoulder surgery, will give them a chance for batting practice. A team whose 6-7-8 hitters are Soriano, DeWitt, and G. Soto should be able to score runs in any inning.

So, why not just take the Cubs? Because they are the Cubs, and they generally find a way to lose road games. I think the only way they lose this game is to give up runs, and while Dempster has had a solid season, it is notable that the two biggest bats in the middle of the Nats lineup have the following numbers against Dempster:
Dunn 5 for 14, 1 2B, 2 HR
Zimmerman, 5 for 10, .545 OB
Weather will be in the 80s with 45% humidity, so the ball should be jumping, and I am very surprised that O/U sits at less than a run per inning.
