I'm taking the SF Giants -128 over the Dodgers today.
Manny Ramirez is a career 6/10 with 2 doubles and 2 HRs against Jonathan Sanchez, but Ramirez was injured last night. Ethier, LA's hottest hitter, will also sit. The lineup as it is set, has to be an absolute relief to Sanchez, who has a 2.63 ERA at home this season, where opponents are batting just .187 against him.
On the other side, Vicente Padilla brings his 7.65 road ERA into this one, and the Giants are leaving Molina and Renteria on the bench, which I think automatically makes them a more adept offense. Whether or not there is motivation for revenge for Aaron Rowand's fractured face by way of Padilla earlier this season or not, I think the Giants have 1. the better pitcher, 2. (without Ethier and ManRam) the better lineup, and 3. HUGE motivation not to be swept at home by their division rival.
