The numbers tell you that Kyle Winkler is maybe the best starting pitcher the Horned Frogs have, and Garrit Cole is definitely the best hurler in Westwood. Both have near 3 ERAs, and both have pitched against an impressive slate of competition.
Runs have been put up in big numbers with the FL, FLSt, TCU, UCLA bracket, but this is the best pitching matchup by far, and it is being played under the lights, when the ball doesn't tend to go sailing from the yard nearly so easily.
Two future MLB pitchers locking "horns" in a scenario that favors the pitchers anyway? You can still give up a run an inning here and win this bet, and I have a feeling there is the talent on the mound to give us a lot of zeros here.
