Cavaliers trailed at half in three of four series games; they were 4-21 on arc in Game 3; their bench combined to shoot just 3-12 for game- James needs some support, or else. Starting Gs were 6-16 in Game 4, 8-12 in Game 3, after being 3-16 in Game 2; what they shoot is an indicator of how Cavs are playing. Celtics held Cleveland to 40.3% from floor and only three offensive rebounds in Game 4. Boston was just 1-14 from arc in Game 4, still won; you know the NBA would like a dramatic series, as the other three series in this round all ended in four-game sweeps.

Chicago won six of last eight games; they've outscored Vancouver 9-2 in third period in this series, outshooting Canucks 57-36. Vancouver lost its first two series home games, 5-2/7-4, giving up six power play goals; they've got to temper their emotions and not take any dumb penalties. Vancouver is just 5-24 on power play in series, after going 3-10 in last two games. Blackhawks won their last four road games. Over is 3-1-1 in this series.

-- Rays trailed 4-0 after seven in Anaheim, rallied to tie game with three runs in ninth, then lost 5-4 to the Angels in 11 innings.

-- Washington Nationals are 18-14, are in second place in NL East.

-- Jeff Gordon is winless in his last 40 NASCAR races.

-- Hank Haney quit as Eldrick Woods' swing coach; somehow, I think the gig with Ray Romano is a hell of a lot more fun for Hank.

-- Orlando swept the Hawks, winning by total of 101 points, widest total margin ever in an NBA four-game sweep.

-- Montreal beat the Penguins, forcing a Game 7 in Pittsburgh.

Tuesday's List of 13: Taking a look at all 14 AL teams........

We're going to take a look at all 14 AL teams every Tuesday, and all 16 of the NL teams on Fridays. Here's a look at the American League......

                        14) Royals-- Coaches never saw Josh Hamilton fail to tag on fly ball this weekend, missing obvious appeal play that would have saved them a run in a 3-2 game. Manager Hillman is a lame duck, barring huge turnaround.

                        13) Orioles-- They've got pitching prospects (Arietta/Tillman) on way, but as long as they're in this division, they're going to finish fifth. Now if they want to blame Tremblay, go ahead, but this ain't his fault.

                        12) Mariners-- By far most disappointing team in league; signing Bradley wasn't smart, and now word comes out that Griffey couldn't pinch-hit in game last week because he was asleep in clubhouse. Oh boy.......

                        11) Indians-- Lost nine of last 12 games; they've dumped Sabathia and Lee in last few years. Why should their fans care if team won't sign pitchers who win the Cy Young award? Lebron doesn't even root for them.

                        10) White Sox-- Bullpen is a mess, they're 4-9 on road, and if they don't trade Pierzynski soon, he becomes a 10/5 man and can veto any deals, so chances are AJ will get traded to make room for young Flowers, who is supposedly a terrific hitter.

                        9) Angels-- Not sure why they're doing what they're doing, but for a team that draws a ton of fans, they're not spending much this year. Matsui has been a bust as DH so far, and the bullpen is still a weakness.

                        8) Red Sox-- Look at their lineup; who strikes fear in your heart? Maybe Youkilis and Martinez, but Victor is a liability behind plate. Beckett has an ERA over 7.00. Have an interesting road trip coming up.

                        7) A's-- Have enough pitching to contend, but need Crisp to get healthy and then spark an anemic offense from leadoff spot. Just remember that it is Dallas Braden's mound, and baserunners should stay off of it.

                        6) Tigers-- May have swindled Bronx Bombers on Granderson trade, as young Jackson is hitting .360. Cabrera has 33 RBI in first 32 games.

                        5) Texas-- They're said to have more pitching in minor leagues than any other team, and they're being trained to go deeper into games, since Nolan Ryan is calling the shots. Just called up young lefty Holland.

                        4) Toronto-- They let Halladay go and got better; go figure. Are 12-5 on the road, as Vernon Wells is having a big bounceback season. Hopefully the fans will realize this is a good team; maybe after the NHL playoffs.

                        3) Twins-- Their continued success is amazing, since they've let Santana go and basically got nothing for him, then made the awful Bartlett/Garza for Young trade. Still, they pitch well, and have an expectation of winning.

                        2) Bronx-- Age is showing with some nagging injuries, but looks like both Bombers and Tampa Bay will make playoffs anyway.

                        1) Tampa Bay-- Their core is younger than Bronx Bombers, but this is it for the core, since they'll have to let Crawford walk after season. That is why Bronx sustains their success; the poorer teams have to step back and regroup every so often, for financial reasons.

                          Len's Top 5

Happy Tuesday everyone, here's my Top 5 for May 11, 2010 from Len Berman.

                          1. Quick Hits

The Lakers and Orlando complete 4 game sweeps of their NBA playoff series.
Montreal forces a 7th game against Pittsburgh in the NHL playoffs.
Before beating the Yankees, the Detroit Tigers honor their late great announcer Ernie Harwell.
Tiger Woods' swing coach, Hank Haney, resigns. A whole bunch of wiseguys respond by saying, "Tiger swings pretty well on his own."

                          2. The World According To Tiger

So here's some of what Tiger Woods said yesterday. He was asked if his neck injury is related to his mysterious November car accident? He answered "Zero connection." Then he was asked what he plans to change about his swing? His response, "Not hit right and not hit left. I'd also like to make more putts and shoot lower scores."
Thanks Tiger, have a nice day.

                          3. Goaling For Dollars

So when the World Cup soccer tournament kicks off next month in South Africa, all eyes will be on the home team. The head of the South African Football Association said, "We want our team to play with pride and passion, we want to inspire them." So what did they come up with for inspiration? Making them watch Invictus, the movie about South Africa's win in the 1995 Rugby World Cup? Hoosiers? Nah, they did it the old fashioned way. One million rand ($130-thousand) to be shared by the team for each goal. That's the patriotic $pirit.

                          4. Yin And Yang

Since we normally can't help but mention all the creeps in sports, I thought I'd give you a "fair and balanced report" for a change. Hats off to 3 Minnesota Twins. Their bat boy, Adam Hanson, is a college senior who plays trumpet in the school's jazz ensemble, and they all showed up for his performance. Said pitcher Kevin Slowey, “Adam does so much for us around here that we don’t even ask him to do, and it was something he was excited about and we wanted to be there for him.” How cool is that? Then there's Scottish snooker pro John Higgins. First he was caught on camera agreeing to a bribe. Then he placed a call to bookies, and tried to bet on himself to lose. Thanks John. We wouldn't want to give all athletes a good name.

                          5. Freudian Slip

When I was a kid they used to put out long playing blooper records. I remember one entry was from a horse race. The horse's name was Harass, and the sportscaster told his audience that the horse had been scratched. So he said, "don't forget to scratch Harass." That passed as a blooper back then. Wonder if the Golf Channel moment would have made the cut? In case you missed it.
We thought Tiger's injury was a bit higher up?

Happy Birthday: Former major league outfielder who "came out" after he retired, Billy Bean. 46.
Bonus Birthday: God Bless America. Songwriter Irving Berlin was born on this date in 1888.

Today in Sports: The Say Hey Kid comes home. The Giants trade 41-year old Willie Mays to the Mets. 1972.
Bonus Event: Peter Stuyvesant arrives in New Amsterdam. If he didn't, God only knows what they would have called my high school. 1647.

Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers [TNT | 8:00 PM ET]

Celtics: Boston refuses to give up in their series with Cleveland, as they won Game 4 to even up their series at 2-2. Boston used their experience and their defense to earn the big win and keep their upset dreams alive. This is arguably the Celtics last stand, as the nucleus of the team is getting up in years. The one way the Celtics are staying young is the fine play of PG Rajon Rondo. Rondo had 29 PTS, 18 rebounds, and 13 assists in a dynamic Game 4 performance. Rondo filled the stat sheet like only 2 players in NBA Playoff history, Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson. Rondo has had a breakout playoffs thus far, with Game 4 being the obvious highlight as he single handily kept the Celtics championship hopes alive. Rondo leads the Celtics in PPG, RPG, and APG this year in the playoffs thus far. F Kevin Garnett is averaging 17 PPG and making better than 52% of his shots during the playoffs. Boston has been a great road team all season, so they will look to win in Cleveland for the 3rd time this season tonight. The Celtics are 28-17 SU and 23-21-1 ATS in road contests this season. Boston is 0-2 ATS as a road underdog between 6.5 and 9 PTS this year.

Celtics are 2-9 ATS last 11 games following a SU win.
Over is 7-3 last 10 games as an underdog.

                            Key Injuries - None.

                            PROJECTED SCORE: 89

Cavaliers (-7.5, O/U 193.5): Cleveland entered this playoff series as the odds on favorite to win the Championship, yet they are stuck in a battle with Boston. Cleveland has alternated wins and losses against the Celtics, as the series returns back to Boston tied 2-2. The Cavaliers were dominated by Rajon Rondo in Game 4, and it appears that F LeBron James will draw the defensive assignment in Game 5. The reigning MVP was also voted to the All-Defensive team this season. The Cavaliers only scored 87 PTS in Game 4, ultimately losing by 10 to Boston. Cleveland was held under 90 PTS for the 3rd time in 8 overall meetings with the Celtics this season. James is averaging 30.9 PPG this post-season, making 54% of his field goal attempts along the way. F Antawn Jamison is averaging 17.1 PPG during the playoffs, as he continues to be scoring option #2 for the Cavaliers. Cleveland is 39-7 SU and 19-26-1 ATS in home games this season. Cleveland is 5-1 ATS as a home favorite between 6.5 and 9 PTS this season.

Cavs are 2-5 ATS last 7 playoff games as a favorite.
Over is 6-2 last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage greater than .600%.

                            Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 97 (UNDER - Total of the Day)
