Atlanta's starting Fs were combined 3-19 from floor; their FG% has gone from 53.9% in Game 1 to 47.5% to 39.1%-- they had 20 offensive boards in Game 3. Hawks were 3-15 from arc in Game 3, after making 9-22 in first two games.

Bobcats starting Gs were 11-32 in Game 3 loss; they led by 5 at half, but were just 5-23 from arc, and were -15 in 33:30 that Felton played, which means they were +11 in 14:30 he sat out. Nelson had 32 points, was +13, as Magic survived 19 turnovers. All three series games stayed under the total. How does Carter play 39:04 without one assist?

Suns were just 6-23 from arc in Game 4, after making 32-80 in the first three series games; Suns had 63-66 points in two series wins (by 29-19 points), 43-50 in losses. Its about making shots; Suns made 41.8/43.4% from floor in two losses, 52.3/52.9% in two wins. Blazers taking 30 FTs a game in series. Not sure how Roy's knee will react in his second game after knee surgery just 11 days ago.

Orlando Magic at Charlotte Bobcats [TNT | 8:00 PM ET]

Magic (-4, O/U 184): Orlando appears dominant so far in the playoffs, as they are one game away from advancing to the 2nd Round. However, Orlando and Coach Van Gundy feel there is much to work on for the Magic. Orlando is trying to keep C Dwight Howard on the court, and get G Vince Carter back on track offensively. Carter is averaging 13.7 PPG this series, yet is only shooting 32.5% from the field. Howard has been in foul trouble all series long, and as a result is only averaging 11 PPG and 8 RPG against Charlotte. The biggest reason for the Magic success this series is PG Jameer Nelson. Nelson has been remarkable, averaging 25.7 PPG with 14 assists against only 3 turnovers. Nelson is almost making better than 45% of his three pointers, as well as 93.8% from the free throw line. Orlando is 62-23 SU and 47-35-3 ATS overall this season. The Magic are 26-16 SU and 22-17-3 ATS in road games this season. Orlando is 8-5 ATS this year as a road favorite between 3.5 and 6 PTS.

Magic are 6-0-1 ATS last 7 games as a road favorite.
Under is 13-6 last 19 games as a road favorite.

                            Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 97 (OVER - Total of the Day)

Bobcats: Charlotte is staring elimination right in the face, as they are down 0-3 to the Magic in their playoff matchup. No NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit, yet the Bobcats players are trying to remain upbeat. Charlotte's offense has been anemic in this series, as they've to score more than 89 points this series. The Bobcats are pleased with their defensive effort, as they've held the Magic under 100 PTS in each game this series. F Stephen Jackson is averaging a team high 21.3 PPG during the playoffs, yet he's shooting less than 40% from the field in the process. F Gerald Wallace is playing well, averaging 17.7 PPG and 10 RPG against the Magic this series. No other Bobcats player is averaging more than 12 PPG, which ultimately makes Charlotte very predictable on offense. The Bobcats are 44-41 SU and 45-38-2 ATS overall this season. Charlotte is 31-11 SU and 23-19 ATS in home games this season. The Bobcats are 3-2 ATS as a home underdog between 3.5 and 6 PTS this season.

Bobcats are 6-1-1 ATS last 8 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.
Under is 12-3-1 last 16 games as an underdog.

Key Injuries - C Alexis Ajinca (hand) is out.

                            PROJECTED SCORE: 94

Portland Trail Blazers at Phoenix Suns [TNT | 10:30 PM ET]

Trail Blazers: Portland is sky high right now, as they are back in their 1st Round playoff series and they have their best overall player back on the court. The Blazers will be the listed underdog when they take the court tonight in Phoenix, but that hasn't bothered them before. Portland won Game 1 of this series as a bigger underdog than they are today, and both of their SU wins this series have come as the listed underdog. Portland will look to play stifling defense yet again today, as they held the Suns to only 87 PTS in Game 3. Coach McMillan has done a masterful job during this series of keeping his team balanced. Not only are the Blazers playing solid defense, but their scoring balance has been admirable as well. 5 different Blazers average double figures in PTS this series, led by F LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge is averaging 20.3 PPG and 6 RPG this series, and has been the go to guy for Portland in the clutch. Portland is 25-18 SU and 26-15-2 ATS on the road this season. The Blazers are 18-14 ATS as the listed underdog this season. Portland continues to play well against high scoring teams, as they are 31-23 ATS against teams that average more than 99 PPG this season.

Blazers are 10-3 ATS last 13 playoff games as an underdog.
Over is 16-7 last 23 road games.

                            Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 102 (Side of the Day)

Suns (-6, O/U 202): Phoenix was doubly shocked in their last game with Portland, both by the final score and by the return of Brandon Roy. Phoenix is going to need to get their offense back in gear, because when the Suns struggle to score, they lose. The Suns have averaged 93.5 PPG in their 2 losses, while they've averaged 113.5 PPG in their 2 wins. Playing at home will surely help this Suns team get back on track. G Jason Richardson is doing his part offensively this series, as he's averaging a team high 25 PPG. Richardson is shooting better than 50% from both the field and the 3 point line. Richardson has averaged 4 made three pointers per game so far this series, an amazing display of markmanship. F Amar'e Stoudemire is also averaging more than 20 PPG this series, along with a team high 8.9 RPG. PG Steve Nash will likely manage a great game tonight, as he's averaged 11 APG so far during this series. The Suns are 33-10 SU and 25-16-2 ATS in home games this season. Phoenix is 7-2 ATS as a home favorite of 3.5 to 6 PTS this season. The Suns are 8-5 ATS in a game following a SU loss as the listed favorite.

Suns are 6-0 ATS last 6 games following an ATS loss.
Over is 5-1 last 6 games as a home favorite.

Key Injuries - C Robin Lopez (back) is out.

                            PROJECTED SCORE: 103

                              Monday six-pack

-- Astros are 8-2 since losing their first eight games; Pirates went 0-6 this week, outscored 55-9. Yikes.

-- Coyotes are 0-4 in Game 7's; they haven't won playoff series since 1987, when they were the Winnipeg Jets. They host Detroit in Game 7 this week; Red Wings are 12-8 in Game 7's.

-- Al Pacino turned 70 years old Sunday. Time goes by quickly.

-- If you had ticket for Sunday's rain-shortened Met game, you can get another ticket to a game in either the Padre or Tiger series in June.

-- Iowa State coach Greg McDermott is jumping off the Cyclones' ship a year before he gets pushed to take the Creighton job that opened after Dana Altman left for Oregon.

-- Orioles are 2-1 on Sundays, 1-15 the other six days of the week.

Monday's List of 13: What if??????

The course of history changes on one event; sometmes its fun to think about how things would be different if certain things hadn't happened

                              13) What if the Colts had drafted Ryan Leaf instead of Peyton Manning? Trust me, there were lot of people back then who thought they should.

                              12) What if John Elway had agreed to play for the Baltimore Colts and the team had never moved to Indianapolis? Would Art Modell had moved the Browns to Indiana?

                              11) What if Fidel Castro had signed as a pitcher for Washington Senators back in the mid-40's?

                              10) What if Portland Trailblazers drafted Michael Jordan instead of the oft-injured Sam Bowie?

                              9) What if Mookie Wilson's ground ball hadn't rolled thru Bill Buckner's legs in the ninth inning of Game 6 of the '86 World Series?

                              8) What if Larry Bird had stayed at Indiana, instead of leaving after only 24 days in the fall of '74? He later transferred to Indiana State, led ISU to the Final Four and together with Magic Johnson boosted both pro, college basketball in the late 70's and 80's.

                              7) What if Mike Price had signed his contract to coach Alabama before he gave those strippers the school's credit card to order breakfast with? He is a good coach, lot better than Mike Shula but not as good as Nick Saban. I am thinking Bama is better off in the long run, and so is UTEP, which is where Price wound up coaching football.

                              6) What if Saban had signed Drew Brees for the Dolphins instead of going with Daunte Culpepper? Would he still be coaching in Miami?

                              5) What if the 49ers fired Bill Walsh when he was 8-24 after two years? In today's climate, that very well could have happened.

                              4) What if Scott Norwood had made that field goal in Super Bowl XXV? How many Super Bowls would those Bills have won?

                              3) What if Wally Pipp had never gotten sick? What would Lou Gehrig have done?

                              2) What if Richard Nixon had said yes when he was offered the job as baseball commissioner in the early 60's?

                              1) What if Holy Cross hadn't turned down an offer to become a charter member of the Big East? Their basketball program would have made ton of money over the last 30 years, instead of being in the Patriot League.

                                Len's Top 5

Happy Monday everyone, here's my Top 5 for April 26, 2010 from Len Berman.

                                1. Quick Hits

Hide the interns! A-Rod and the Yankees visit the White House today.
Now here's your second Yankees cheap shot of the week. After watching Javy Vazquez struggle yesterday on the mound, where are Ed Whitson and Kevin Brown when you need them?
The hottest team in baseball? None other than your 2010 New York Mets who are now officially winners with a 10-9 record.
Is the NFL draft finished yet?

                                2. Calling An Audible

OK this just in, the NFL draft is over. It's time for draft junkies to go back to doing whatever they do the other 362 days of the year. Did you hear about New Hampshire tight end Scott Sicko? He said since he wasn't drafted, he doesn't want to play pro football. Even when teams called him after the draft, he said forget it. Instead he wants to further his education. What is he, some kind of sicko?

                                3. The Unwritten Rules

Don't you love hearing about the unwritten rules of baseball? Alex Rodriguez (why is it always him?) had the temerity to run across the mound in Oakland getting the pitcher's knickers in a twist. The nerve of A-Rod. I thought he should have been shipped directly to Guantanamo. Anyway, remember when an unwritten rule of baseball was if a guy hit a homer, the next batter was drilled by a 90 mph fastball? That's when men were men. In those days the players from opposite teams didn't share the same agent and hug and kiss each other during batting practice.

                                4. Run For The Roses

Is it Kentucky Derby week already? The top 20 horses get in, and 20th on the list is Homeboykris co-owned by Dodgers manager Joe Torre. Makes you think of that noted horseman and team owner, George Steinbrenner. He's had 6 Derby entrants and hasn't won yet. Since the Yankees made Torre an offer he could refuse, the Yanks have won the World Series. But wouldn't it be something if Torre beat Steinbrenner at his other own game and Torre's horse wound up in the winners circle Saturday at Churchill Downs? Then again the betting site Bodog lists Homeboykris at 60-1.

                                5. Post Time

Lovely story in the New York Post yesterday, how the new Meadowlands Stadium has construction columns behind both end zones that create obstructed view seats. Shades of the old Yankee Stadium when we would routinely have our sight lines blocked by the pillars. Then again, we were paying $2.50 for a ticket, not $4,000 for a personal seat license plus $1200 per seat for season tickets.

Today in Sports: Lou Gehrig hits a home run in Washington, but it's ruled a triple when he passes teammate Lyn Lary on the basepaths. Lary thought the ball was caught and headed for the dugout. Gehrig wound up tying Babe Ruth as the AL home run leader with 46. Lou should have won it outright. 1931.
Bonus Event: Now we have a reason for local TV newscasts. The first regularly scheduled weather report is aired on WEW radio in St. Louis. 1921.
