            SB Thoughts .......

Hey, All season i heard people saying that Indy kept "Pulling out games" and that they have had better teams in the past. The Colts were very lucky in their 2 matchups vs the Jets & Ravens IMO. Neither team has a killer offense and it played right in to the Colts hands with their injuries on defense. San Diego would have been the Colts nightmare. Indy only played 4 playoff teams all season. They went (3-1). They had a slim lead vs the Jets until they pulled their starters and lost. In the other 3 games, they beat Arizona early in the season by 21 and in the other 2, they beat N.E. late by 1 and they held off the Ravens late with a pick to win by 2. So in those 4 games, they lost one and 2 of the other 3 were decided by 2 or less points.

People say Indy has a much better defense than N.O. but in reality, the Saints only gave up 18 more yards and 2 more points per game on average than the Colts, and N.O. is the team here with the #1 Offense in football, not the almighty Mr. Manning. The Saints scored 5 ppg more than Indy and averaged 41 yards per game more as well.

Freeney being banged up is huge for N.O. because it would able the Saints to concentrate on Mathis if Freeney is slowed by injuries. You also have a banged up Reggie Wayne and a secondary that is held together by masking tape right now for the Colts. The Saints didn't sack Favre once 2 weeks ago but they beat the shit out of him. I've heard a lot about Peyton, Peyton, Peyton but he doesn't play defense and i don't know how they stop the Saints just as much as most don't think they can stop Peyton.

I hear from several people that Indy beat the best two defense's to get here too. Well, Indy beat the Jets at home by 13 and the Saints beat the Jets at home by 14, giving up less points than the Colts did. So What really? N.O. beat a great defense and a great offense in Minny and they throttled the Cardinals. Their 2 wins were more impressive to me over 2 teams that went (22-10) vs the Colts wins over teams combined (18-14) record, and some how people don't see it that way? New Orleans is getting NO RESPECT here IMO.

Indy faced 4 truly powerful passing offense's this season in N.E., Houston twice and Arizona. They struggled to win 3 of them, all late in the 4th by a combined 12 points.

GL with whatever you do but i like .....

            New Orleans 34 Indy 31

And for the record, New Orleans only played 4 playoff teams this year too. They also went (3-1), but in their 3 wins, it was by 26, 14 and 21 points.
