should be a great hockey olympics, with canada, usa, russia and sweden in the mix....maybe a sleeper can make noise ? who knows

Yzerman did a good job at selecting team canada, strange that the top dman in terms of points (Green) is not on the team. Can you say defensive liability

Brodeur struggling a bit of late, maybe Lulu Luongo will decide this whole Olympics before its all said and done.

Crosby-Iginla-Nash line (if they still play together) will be the key in my opinion.

Hey whats happening man good to hear from another hockey fan. Couldnt have said the same things better myself. Yes Green is a defensive liability he pinches way too much and is out of position a lot. In a huge tournament like this we can afford to lose his offensive point production but we couldnt afford him allowing goals against. Yzerman and the boys did extensive evaluations on this and all other players. I believe they are saying that Nash and Crosby are going to be with Bergeron not Iginla. Crosby and Bergeron worked magic on the same line for the Canadian Junior team about 4 years back so thats their thinking. The San Jose line is gonna stay the same with Marleau, Thornton, and Heatley so no worries there. Goaltending is always the X factor in this one and done events. Yea Luongo had definately been playing better than Bordeur as of late but they will most likely still stick with him unless he struggles out the gate. Should be exciting cant wait!!!

Hi Chado, i agree what you wrote on Green and Crosby's line etc...

Here is my thinking (i am not the biggest Mike Green fan, but i do think he might get on the team if Dan Boyle gets hurt (so they have 1 power play specialist onboard)

Team Canada Olympic roster for defenseman:

Duncan Keith - if hurt replace with Jay Bouwmeester
Shea Weber - if hurt replace with Jay Bouwmeester
Brent Seabrook - if hurt replace with Jay Bouwmeester
Drew Doughty - if hurt replace with Jay Bouwmeester
Chris Pronger - if hurt replace with Jay Bouwmeester
Scott Niedermayer - if hurt replace with Jay Bouwmeester
Dan Boyle - if hurt replace with Mike Green

My only issue with Yzerman's selection is not having Steven Stamkos on the team. We know for a fact that Stamkos will make that roster in 4 years, so i would have liked him to go there with the boys, soak up the experience, play 6-8 minutes on the fourth line, and in 4 years, it wont be "new" to him, and he can dominate. he has great skill.

but offcourse who would they leave off the team if that is the case ? who knows maybe Bergeron...

Team USA is very scary, because they have Ryan Miller in nets, and he can close the shop if he wants to!

What about one of the best money goalies over the last two years? #29 is better than luongo in my opinion.

DBURGH, you wont get an argument from me. I am a big Fleury fan
That kid wins games, and he won a championship last season.

he has won 7 play-off rounds the past 2 years.
