Stoney-get out your handkerchief, as Phil "my picks are worth stool" Steele will get on the comp. line very sad about the loss on Syracuse, and then as usual give you the usual line-"You know us here at NC-I tell you when we win, and I am also up here the next day telling you when we lose."
Then, for good measure he might revert back for the zillionth time to that GOY on Wisconsin telling us what a great pick it was, how easily it won, etc.
Oh, I forgot-he has an NFL GOY tomorrow. After going 0-5-1 the last two sundays and 0-6 on last 3 monday nights. losing Thursday and Friday and big play today, maybe he will get one right.

Absolutely classic! We just document how "AWFUL" Phil Steele's picks have been and sure enough, the next poster, Dave 55, asks for Steele's picks. Get a clue!!

Maybe the guy is a masochist and likes losing.

Must be. I can only hope he wanted the selections for a fade...but I doubt it.

Shooter18... no limit is Root's biggest play if you judge by cost. According to Root's website his no limit play costs $500, Millionaire $100 and Chairman $50

savage, you called phil's story to a t. i don't know what it is but i still put a little something on his higher rated plays. and it is such a joke, that he is doing so bad. i used to pound his 5*'s or best plays of the week at one time long ago. but the thing that pisses me off, thats why i vent on a weekly basis, is that this guy used to be an above average handicapper with some consistancy. i have found($the hard way$) that this guy has completely bottomed out and has to reassess his ways of handicapping games. its still difficult to not take his plays into consideration, but i am pretty mush scarred for life by his picks in the last two years.

                          • Stoney-NC's problem is that he(Phil) is too wrapped up in stats, some of which are meaningless.
There are a lot of intangibles which the big betting syndicates use which Phil does not.
I feel his methods to an extent are becoming antiquated.
All the gibberish he cites in his newsletter has a very limited impact on what happens of the field.
The person who has the intuitive touch is the one who wins, and Phil doesn't have it.

                            • Acually I did want to know his picks so I coulds bet the opposite of him. I've learned my lesson in the beginning of the year betting with him.

                              • The only thing I would say is just because of the law of averages/a broken clock is right twice a day syndrome, etc., Phil may be due, and I actually may bet on his GOM tomorrow ONLY if I like it before I dee it posted by him.
