      Ricardas Berankis - Sebastian Decoud

      2 units

Berankis is a 19 years old Lithuanian with a large talent, currently occupies the 276 th position of the ATP rankings but, I believe that approaches the Top 100 by the end of this year. Is a Hard Court player, has a record of 12-11 in Challengers,33-13 at Futures and 2-0 in ATP tournaments. Although short stature has a reasonable service, and is very comprehensive level of play. He began this season in good form in the tournament last week in Sao Paulo, the qualifying went smoothly and in maind drawl defeated Carlos Salamanca and Guillermo Olaso, 2 top-ranked player to him in terms of ranking, and of course was defeated by better player, E. Schwank. Decoud is a more experienced player, has 28 years, and career never got this level of tournament Futures and Challengers .. It is a player where even clay court is a reasonable player but playing in Hard Court it's not his best surface. Has a career record of 6-8 on hard court tournaments in Challenger and Futures even where the level is much lower ETM 29-26. It began well this season and the tournament last week in Sao Paulo, in this same floor, lost in the 1st round to Michael Mclunne No. 328 ranking 6-4, 7-6. I think Berankis is favorite for this Decoud for this game, is a rising young career, is playing in his preferred floor, and appears to be in good shape, on the other hand Decoud to 28 years, has few games in hard court in his career, which demonstrates its lack confidence and ability to play this type of floor. In single game played this season lost to a player well below Berankis. I expect a victory of Berankis probably in 2 sets.

              Challenger – Equador 14-01-2010 - 23H GMT

              Ricardas Berankis - Diego Junqueira

As I said yesterday, Berankis is a young Lithuanian 19 years, with a great talent, currently occupies the 276 th position of the ATP rankings but, I believe that approaches the Top 100 untill the end of this Season. He is a Hard Court player, with this year games, has a record of 20-11 in Challengers, 33-13 on Futures and, 2-0 in ATP tournaments. Although short stature has a reasonable service, and is very balanced player. He began this season in good shape, go with a 8-1 record so far. In the last week tournament in Sao Paulo, he pass the Qualifying easely and on the final bord he beat Carlos Salamanca and Guillermo Olaso, 2 top ranked players than him, and of course was defeated in 3rd round E. Schwank. In this tournament, in the 1st round he beat Cristobal Corvalan 6-1 4-6 6-2, and yesterday beat Decoud 6-3 7-6, showing that is going through a good moment.

Junqueira has 29 years and currently occupies a 193 in the ranking. Like almost South American players he is a Clay Court player, where he has some good results. In Hard Court is a weak player with fewer games played on this surface in his long career. In Challenger´s on Hard Court has a record of 6 wins and 6 losses, even in futures his record is not positive, 6 wins and 6 losses and 1-4 in ATP tournaments. In their 1st game of the season, in São Paulo last week, he lost in the 1st round against Juan Pablo Brzezicki 6-1 6-2. In This tournament had 2 difficult games to reach this round, against 2 very affordable players. In the 1st round he beat Martin Alund (No. 324), who is a horrible player on Hard Court, with just 10 career games played on this floor and a record of 2-8. In the 2nd round had another very balanced game against McClune, a player with 11-24 on hard court 7-6 7-6.

For today's game I expect another victory of Berankis, quite possibly in 2 sets, he is more experienced player in this surface, which is his favorite and he is in very good shape, while Junqueira who had 2 opponents very accessible untill here, today will have the most difficult opponent of this season.

I have followed the path of Berankis in this tournament and once again I'm with him .. He returned yesterday to have a good victory without problems facing D. Junqueira 6-3 6-3, and so it goes with a score of 9-1 this year with a "norma" defeat against E. Schwank.
Dabul will certainly be a more difficult opponent for the young Lithuanian ..
Dabul occupies the No. 162 ranking and, unlike the normal of the Argentines, it is this type of flooring that he has his best results, although it is also good clay court player .. has a record of 40-26 in Hard Court Challengers tournaments, already won 3 titles .. The tournament of Sao Paulo last week did not went very well where he lost in the 2nd round to Joao Souza 7-6 6-1 .. This week is going better to Dabul, reaching the semi finals after beating Victor Estrella, Ivan Endara and R. Dutra Silva in 3 sets, the first 2 were pretty easy.

For this game I expect a new victory of the young Berankis that is in great shape.. Dabul is a good opponent but I do not think that is at his best, has not had a victory worthy of emphasis this season, The best was in the previous round against the Dutra Silva with some difficulties.
Facing Berankis has the strongest opponent to date. In my opinion these odds are valuable, because I see Berankis favorite for the victory.

                                18/01/2010 - 00.00 GMT

                                Ernest Gulbis - Juam Monaco
Pick: Ernest Gulbis @ 1.709 Pinnacle
                                3 units

Gulbis is a 21 year-old with enormous potential, we all know the capabilities of the Latvian who currently occupies the 90th position of the ATP ranking in 2008 was No. 38, has talent (but no head) to be a top 10.

Gulbis is a complete player, with excellent service, knows how to play on every floor but the preference is to Hard Courts. He did pretty well in 1st tournament this year, with 2 victories against Montanes and Seppi, and a 3rd set lost to Roger Federer.

He was serving very well, which made it difficult to other players. But he was very good at serve return too.

Monaco is a good South American player but has always been characterized by being a very good player in the rallies and the ability to defend because of his solid play on the baseline and therefore , a player who almost exclusively search the clay courts where his game is much better.

This week he won against Zeballos and lost against big server John Isner.

In this game Gulbis will cause problems to Monaco with his serve, and even in rallies, Gulbis can finished the point with a winner easily.

                                Big confidence here.

Juan Ignacio Chela - Victor Hanescu
                                Victor Hanescu @ 1.971 Pinnacle
                                3 units

Chela with 30 years of age is in the final stage of this career at this level, currently occupies the 75th place on the ATP, but the trend seems to me that will come down. The Argentine despite being a player of clay court, has a successful track record on hard court in his career, 108-98 but due to its levels a few years ago, when it came to being in the top 20 .. In my opinion Chela is no longer able to play Hard Court to the level of ATP Tour, his movement on the court is very bad for this floor, and his physical condition also is not the best. The last victory in the Argentine in hard Court was in the last U.S. Open against the horrible hard court player O. Hernandez.
This season started badly for the Argentine, 2 tournaments and 2 losses in the 1st round, in Brisbane against Bellucci 3-6, 6-3, 1-6, and in Sydney against Becker 3-6 3-6.

Hanescu ranks 47th in ATP rankings, despite having his best record in clay, even on hard is a good player, has a record of 33-58 on this floor. The Romanian is a tall player, with 1.98m, has a very good service and good one hand Backhand, and a good forehand too, he is a complete player, and his weakest point is movement on the court. Hanescu starts the season in this tournament and it seems to me that he was lucky in the 1st opponent of the season.

For this game I expect a victory of Hanescu without major problems .. The Romanian is a more complete player than Chela for this floor, and above all, he have a better physical condition, despite his movimentation on the court is not optimal, I do not think Chela with his background court style can do Hanescu run a lot. If I enjoy that Chela is no longer able to play on this floor at this level, even less will have to play best of 5 sets game, in the event of a very balanced game in 4 of the 5th set, it seems to me that the Argentine would be extremely difficult to stand. I do not see any way to Chela beat the Romanian in this Grand Slam, I think those odds have immense value. Im very confident here.
