  • NFL Sunday

    NFL YTD 17-30 -19.8 units
    3* 1-1 -0.3 units
    2* 3-6 -7.2 units
    1* 13-23 -12.3 units

    NFL/CFB Combined 60-58 -5.8 units
    3* 4-3 +2.1 units
    2* 12-14 -6.8 units
    1* 44-41 -1.1 units

My red hot bowl season (8-0, +16.0 units with a 28 win yesterday on East Carolina) is cutting into my nightmarish NFL year. All of these plays were posted earlier at the lines obtained at the time. All, including the GOY, are still recommended at current lines. I believe week 17 is the best week to play the NFL, thus the big ticket

4* NFL Game of the Year Chargers -3 (-125)
    1) San Diego really wants to build momentum going into the playoffs and will play the starters long enough to get a clear lead
    2) Washington has blatantly quit, losing back to back division games at home
    3) SD's second string can outplay Washington's first string
    4) Norv Turner hates Redskins owner Snyder
    5) The home crowd will root hard for the backups if inserted
    6) Washington right now has no offense
I predict a three touchdown win (at least)

    2* Lions +3
I know Detroit has won only two games in two years but how can the Bears lay points on the road? Monday's win over the Vikings was their Super Bowl. They face a short week after partying on New Year's Eve. The coaching staff is in disarry. Detroit will try hard to close out another bad season with a home win.

    1* Texans -6 1/2
Line has moved up since this play was posted but Houston should waltz. New England will rest its starters while the surging Texans need a win to keep playoff hopes alive.

    1* Vikings -9
The Giants threw their season away at home last week. The Vikings are in desperate need of a win and can salvage a first round bye with a win and an Eagles loss.

    1* Rams +7
Same analysis as Bears-Lions. Take the home dog in a meaningless game.

    1* Chiefs/Broncos OVER 38
KC has nothing to lose and will air it out. Denver's defense has been very shaky. KC gave up 41 to Cleveland two weeks ago.

The back up is my boy from Fresno St, Billy Volek and he is a very capable back up. He used to be the best back up in the NFL when he was with the Titans. He can put points on the board in a hurry. I'm confident if they pull Rivers, Volek will get the job done.

Good luck with the GOY Gris!

Totally agreed on the Chargers - their 2nd string is ready to play hard and show that they are a big part of the team, and the crowd will definitely be cheering them on. Washington has done nothing to show they can hang with a team like this. Best of luck to all with this one!
