Thoughts on any improvements on my home town boy Sam Stout? He really brought it tonight eh? He's usually only on the undercard but was on a primetime slot tonight...

2 words well actually 4 words. and then a long explanation.

the 2 words that explain stout's technical improvements are : Shaun Thompkins it is as simple as that, and it's kind of weird that thompkins wasn't involved in his training from the begining considering he is his brother in-law ? Remenber a Looong time ago when you first asked me about stout, i told you well if he wants to fight and take this seriously HE HAS to win his next fight because 3 losses in a row in the ufc and your usually out, well he won that 1, then a 2nd and won his 3rd straight tonight, he hasn't lost since you asked me about him, and shaun thomkins has been in his corner for all 3 of those fights. Now he needs to get on the ground as we say. i was impressed with his improvements but more dissappointed in the way lauzon fought. Still a solid win for stout.

The 2 words that explain why joe lauzon lost are: Ring Rust. Not to take anything away from stout as he had a great fight but joe made it pretty easy on him basically selling out all his energy on that 1 submission in the begining. (even stout admitted he didn't know how he got out of it) I literally can't name you a fighter that has been out of fighting for more than 10 months, and comes back and wins....(i always get bit in the ass with it too, you would figure i would learn,) then add the fact that the layoff was due to a torn ACL. So that was his first fight in a year off a torn ACL....like i said great performance from stout but if lauzon is active, and not injured he wins that fight 9 times out of 10.

all in all i thought it was the best performance i have seen from sam stout, that is probably all you wanted to know. LOL

well i guess, He's a very good fighter, and i think he will show some of those moves we don't see in the ufc. his name is Takanori Gomi i have taken him in the past in japanese events, he's a good fighter but he kinda fits the ufc mold if you know what i mean.


PLUS i have noticed a HUGE lack of concentration and enthusiasm from just about every japanese fighter that has come over in the last year or 2. That includes Gono, Yoshida, and Okami.... Mizugaki or Akiyama has actually probably been the best adapted. I was excited when ufc signed gono and he lost all 3 fights and didn't look good at all he just won the other night at dream on new years eve as a +250 underdog, he fought a real legit guy too.

I also believe that the household names in japan when they basically have a disagreement with prommotion, they come to the ufc, they don't care, they make $, they let all the politics over in japan cool down , then they go back, fight better and make more $$$, that is just what it seems like to me.

you better believe they make a lot more in japan than here chunger brother, why do you think the strikeforce heavyweight champ hasn't defended his belt in over a year, yea strikeforce will tell you he's injured, LOL he must of had at least 5 fights in last 6 months in japan, but he's injured. LOL

i agree faber should not lose his upcoming fight but i gotta tell you kaz it's no gimme at all, if he stays smart he will win, he can't be cute like he likes to in this 1. He's fighting Rafael Assuncao, who has very heavy hands not to mention a legit black belt in BJJ, the clear advantage i see is speed as well as experience for faber. Assuncao is a vet but not an MMA vet, he's still finishing his transfer from BJJ, (but it's been a great transfer 3-0 i believe, I also have taken him in all 3 FYI) i will be on faber for that fight.

and you want to laugh Kaz, mark or chung can vouch for this (not sure which one i told, i forgot) but i specifically sent them an e-mail about that exact mendes fight, i just didn't know it wasn't until march. I will be on mendes as well. it is his debut so you always have to be careful with those but he should be good considering the experience in his camp.

And from what I've been told, those first few fights are almost gimme's because they want Chad to be the face of the WEC and it's kind of set up for him to win. Like they do in boxing. He's like a junior Faber. He even looks like him. I guess from what I've heard is that Chad beats Faber in their practice bouts in their camp. Chad fights with a chip on his shoulder for losing in the NCAA's wrestling for the national championship. He's a tough little dude.

The reason it won't be until march is that Chad busted his hand up in his last fight and it needs to heal.

the guy he is supposed to fight is jens pulver and yea pulver has looked old and bad his last couple, but this is a guy with a pretty good MMA resume including being a former ufc champ, and mendes can be as tough as he wants if pulver lands his trademark left he will be rocked. He probably won't land it if he is a fast as faber, and i believe he is. Mendes is a tough dude but to be honest faber has a whole clan of guys just like that out of his camp. A lot of them look like him but chad does really look like him. I also thought chad was 135 lbs ? i believe that he beats faber in practice sometimes but all the time is very hard for me to believe, after all almost everything chad knows about MMA he picked up from ultimate fitness, which is faber's gym.

after all that B.S i'm still on mendes when they fight. LOL

master tong has gotta change up his striking techniques over at that gym, like you saw me say this will be faber coming off of back to back broken hands, and 1 fight before that it was broken for the 1st time, now your telling me chad broke his hand last fight ? be careful make sure that hand is fully healed. Like you said everyone in that camp is tough, they have to be smart and heal first.
